Kubota L4400, B2401
The vibration issue already being discussed here on the boards.

AND

The tractor is just to **** light for the power it has.

I wish I did better research before hand and maybe got an L series instead.

My Grand L 4200 is not as heavy as I wish it were... BUT
You can add weight to a light tractor a lot cheaper than you can add horse power to an underpowered one. KennyV

You do know tractors can be sold and traded just like cars, don't you? I have/had a B3200 which grew to be to big for my needs so I just traded it for a BX25 last week. I had a B7800 and got it paid off so I traded it to a L3240HST. I had a L3240HST that was to big and underpowered for my jobs so I traded it to a B3200. That's one of the wonderful things about America. When we get dissatisfied with something or someone we can just trade em' off and get a different one. Post yours on Craigs list, go see your local Kubota or other dealer or call Barlows. I know Barlows will trade you. If you've paid enough on it or had a down payment you can trade for another one which will make you happy for a few months for about the same monthly payment.:) Life's to short to be unhappy! Get up, get out or get on that phone, man. Just do it!!! Life's passing you by every second you wait!!!! The economy needs it to and someone out there with a less HP B or BX wants your light weight B3200.:) Get up, now!:D:D

I have mixed emotions about the "lightness" of my 7800. I really like how quick and nimble it feels running around the yard with the finish mower but I wish it was a little tougher built at times too. Theres no perfect tractor, heck theres no perfect 2 tractors, you will always find a model that will do a certain task better. If the thing is reliable for you then you made out alright I'd have to say.

I say if one just does not do everything you want then get another one. The thing about Kabota is they have a model for every day of the year and then some:D:p

After owning a 3200 for 18hrs I can say that the vibration problem is not really a problem anymore. Unless you need live/independent pto and telescoping 3pt arms the 3200 & 3030 are identical. I use a quick hitch so telescoping arms are of no use. The cruise is nicer on the 3030 if you use cruise, I don't so that makes no dif to me. The extra many thousands of $$$$ does make a difference though.

The B3030 also has position control which is important to me. I do like the smaller loader mounts on the B3200. Less hardware on the tractor that way. Nothing wrong with those on the B3030, though. I have had my B3030 since 2005 and it is perfect for my needs. Heavy enough for loader work with loaded rear turfs and still light enough to mow the lawn. It also vibrates somewhat but, nothing I can't live with. I like that it never lacks for power. Just pick the right gear and go. BTW, how many $$$ difference is there between the B3030 and the B3200? The B3030 was about $1800 more than a B7800 when I bought mine. Worth it to me. No regrets here. Good luck.

Well I was at the dealer here the other day and he quoted me $4000 difference.
Made me choke:eek::eek:

At buying time I wish it was and then they may sell me tractors cheaper than they sell them to everyone else. They don't according to other Kubota buyers that post here. The prices they quote as paying is the same as I pay. I used to wonder why people from almost all states have bought from them but then it became apparent that they offer good prices. Just call me John Barlow if you want or maybe even John Kubota.:)

Don't worry, I'm a big boy (220) and I can handle it.:) :)

One of the reason's I went with the B3200 / B3030 size was the weight factor - small / light enough to cut grass all day but still big enough to do FEL work when you add enough weight on the back to counter balance. Looked at other models in the Kubota line and other brands and they were just too heavy - over 1000 lbs sometimes - even within the same HP range. Extra weight also likely means extra fuel use as well.

I remember JohnThomas making a comment about how when he had the larger tractor, he would be less inclined to get it out. I totally agree with that since I have access to other units around here and I never "reach" for them unless it is very specific. I will bring out the B3xxx for lets say moving a couch or something (sorry JT couldn't resist ;-) but I wouldn't go for the other ones - just too big and heavy and would seem like way over kill.

What are your main uses for the B3200 that you are finding it to be too light for?

I would also like to know what you find it to light for? I am about to pull the trigger on the B3200 and I want to make sure it will do what I want it to do. I did like the fact that it is a little smaller than others in the same HP range. But I want to make sure this will not hurt me latter down the road. I am not one to trade in latter.

I bought my 7800 before they changed it to the 3200. Basically the same tractor. I debated between it and an l3400. I can tell you my tractors shortcomings but my problems might not be the norm. What kind of use to have in mind for it and we'll go from there.

It's already been stated that you can add weight to make the tractor heavier if needed.

That is the plus of these tractors leaving the horsepower to run PTO implements and not be to heavy for lawn work.

The main uses I have used this tractor for so far, is fire wood collection (hauling logs, etc) and plowing snow (lots of it). With the terrain I am working on I am having traction issues. The land has been just wet enough to turn the tires into slicks. Also when picking up logs with the forks, I have had the back end come up. Logs sure can be deceiving. You think they don't look to heavy until your tractor pics them up.

Now, I have since added a carryall box so this will be loaded with wood coming out of woods and should help with rear traction and FEL work. Next year I plan on having a set of chains for the snow. I like this tractor, and have no desire to trade it for another. I think its just a matter of still learning its weaknesses and strengths and doing little things to overcome them.

Just from my point of view My B3200 seems to have the best weight and power ratio of any tractor that I've owned. Yesterday up in up-state N.Y. we received 16" of wet heavy snow and the B3200 just handled it effortless. It the summer I'm mowing with a Woods 72" Finishing mower on my 2 acres of lawn and there's not to much weight to score up lawn. The B76 Backhoe is a real power house and can dig anything that I need to dig.
My point is, I've had smaller tractors,(BX23) that did just as good of a job, just took a little longer to complete task.I also had larger tractors, Ford, and Oliver's that were much heavier and there were many times I just would and could not drive across the lawn without tearing it up, so tractor sat in barn. You just have to find the right size and weight tractor to meet all the tasks you have to do.

When you need to go out to dinner you don't fly an airplane. Even if it's the nicest airplane on the planet, it's going to have a tough time pulling through the drivethru at Wendy's. Same with tractors. It can't be huge and powerful and mow your grass. It can't be small and light and pick up a 4000 load. You've got to pick what you are going to do with it 90% of the time and buy the tractor for that application. Rent or borrow for the other 10% or if you have scratch buy multiple. Tractors are so expensive people want them to do everything but if you look at it like smaller tools you don't expect a hammer to do a screwwdriver's job (well sometimes I do:).

Just like a spouse. The party person might be a ton of fun but do you want to be married to that person? Super fun Friday night but kinda scary every other time.

My 2 cents anyways.

The problem is your R4s...these things are horrible for traction. Get some loaded ags and you will be fine.
