My cousin and the bank robber!

I think that is a loaded question, but I will answer it. It depends on what nuances you attribute to the word "enjoy", but I did "enjoy" it in the sense that it was an interesting story that rang true, based on the time, the place and the people. I have always been interested in differences in character and what makes people think and act in a certain way. In that respect, I found it interesting, and in that respect I enjoyed it. It doesn't mean in any respect that I get pleasure out of other peoples humiliation and mistreatment, especially that of a child. In my humble opinion, there is nothing worse than someone who abuses a child.

In my lifetime, and my profession, I have seen, heard and studied a lot of unsavory things that I had to deal with, so perhaps my perspective is a bit different, and for that I have no apologies.

Ultimatley, my only point is given time, people still don't change.

For some reason, people in today's time think people of yesteryear are better, which I don't find to be true.

As far as the story, some people are plain sick given any decade. I don't take ANY enjoyment reading about it.

Hey, I have a story about Ted Bundy and how he picked up a chick, want to hear about it?

Sure...as long as it is firsthand, let 'er rip...then I will tell you some stories about our enforcement actions against group homes providing...or not providing as the case may be...supportive assistance to the myriads of individuals released from the mental hospitals. Just a bundle of laughs...I'll start out with the alleged rape case.

All one has to do is look at mental institutions 100 years ago to see that even though today isn't perfect, things are a lot better than they once were:thumbsup:

Why would a man want to see a kid junk?

This is a cautionary tale with a morale, more about that later.

The goal of the criminal was to make the little boy degrade and humiliate himself in exchange for the chance of getting the dollar. Of course in depression times, the dollar was more like 100 dollars today. The Criminal wanted to show his lady friends that he was powerful enough to do this to the child. His ego was given a boost by the child actually doing what he wanted. The bubble headed floozies he was with, actually thought it funny. The child was degraded and humiliated just like the criminal wanted and to punctuate his success he threw the boy out of the car.

Keep in mind most criminals are mean, cruel and many are mentally ill SOB's. All by definition are lacking in moral turpitude and good manners. Those women that gravitate towards these types of individuals are often themselves mean, hateful and again many are mentally ill. As a former LEO, I have no problem at all believing that this actually happened.

The morale of the story is NEVER get in a car with some stranger. Something bad is liable to happen

I agree with you..

With any luck the star of the story got his fill of peckers for several years in the big house.

I agree that people don't really change; but their approach to life will be different, based on their experiences. Growing up in the 10's, 20's and 30's, as my father did, times were tough and it made people tough; sometimes cynical, unsympathetic and cruel. I also agree that mental patients are treated much better than in times past, but their freedom has been ironicl in one respect, i.e. the homeless population and the prison population consist primarily of people with mental problems.
