souNdguy: Thanks!, and we're not 100% sure since I was absolutely completely fine, and then I suddenly wasn't, but even when the surgery is completely healed, infection can seed into the interface between the metal implant's surfaces and the living bone tissue because it is theoretically a "dead" space where your (my) immune system cannot prevent it.
