Thanks.
Boris1. That's a beautiful poem. It brought tears to my eyes reading it. Sorry for the loss of Cody.
Around 3 years ago, My dad lost his male Collie. The Collie was around 16 years old when it died. My dad went outside to feed him one day and found him dead. He couldn't believe it. He was in shock. That was and is still his best buddy.
I was the one who had to lay him to rest. As my dad couldn't handle it. And it was hard on me as well as he was the last of the 11 dogs I had to bury within 4 months.
First it was 4 puppies, siblings to the one in my avatar. Then the mother got struck and killed by lightning outside. So I had to lay her to rest, then we had to take care of her puppies. Then 4 more of the puppies died.
Then we were left with Rex. (The one in the avatar.) A month later after burying those puppies and their mother, I had to lay our dog Boots to rest. She was pretty old as well. Will have to remember how old she was.
Then a month later after Boots died. I had to lay the Collie to Rest.
That was a hard time on me. I was digging holes and Burying Puppies and dogs left and right. It seemed to never end. Luckily it has for now.
We thought Rex was gonna die. But luckily he pulled out of it and is still here being his ornery self. I love him to pieces.
I really need to get a pic of him now that he has gotten way bigger. I do have a pic of him as a puppy laying beside Boots before she died.
I'll have to rummage through my files on my computer and find the pic.

Has seizures about once a month and I have to massage him until it is over, but than he gets up and looks at me like, whut....there's a ball in the back...why we sittin here..lol love that mutt to death. Not sure if any of you have ever seen this movie, but it is based off of a true story about an Akita in Japan. Hachi: A Dog's Tale (2010) with Richard Gere. if not, rent it. It shows the love a dog gives to you unconditionally. Even when they happen to out live you.

She always had to be around him and Rex always loved to be so close to her.
