Family update August 5, 2008
I just received a phone call from Joy痴 surgeon, Dr. John Lamb. He told me Thursday morning August 7th he is going to close Joy痴 large wound on her leg. He is hoping he can close it without any drains or skin graphs. He told me if she heals well, and the wound doesn稚 get infected she should at least from his perspective be able to leave the hospital in a week after the surgery. But her lung doctor needs to also release her. She is still receiving oxygen at 24%, which isn稚 much, but at night her O2 level drops down under 85% and it should be in the middle 90痴. So we are not really sure when she will be released. She has taken a few steps. She will need some physical therapy. We are not sure if she will do this from home or they will send her to another rehab hospital.
Drew, my grandson, when for a follow-up appointment today and the doctor told him he could start applying some pressure on his hip. He will be walking with a walker to begin with. He is being scheduled for rehab at Star Rehab in Pleasant View, which is right near his home.
Johanah, my grand daughter, is getting somewhat better. Tomorrow, Wednesday August 6th they are going to try and close he wounds again. I understand this time they are considering putting in drains. Please pray she does well.
Thanks for all your prayers, kind words and actions.
