My Garage/Shop Heater Install

I carry a circuit analyzer unit with me in my service rig and that’s helped solve many issues over the years. But it does seam strange that the unit didn’t work due to a ground. You would have thought it wouldn’t have even ignited in the first place. And why shut down after first igniting a flame.

DoN’t you just hate computer boards. Remember old days pilot lights. When a water heater could run without electricity.

I find that a bit odd too. The flame sensor circuit would have to be more sensitive than the other circuits involved? But hey, if it works, it works.

Yeah, those days are gone forever. We are almost always better served. Until something like this happens.

Just in time to keep the humidity low for that new plainer. Have fun.

Mark, even IF you had hired a tech to troubleshoot, there is a good chance he would have gone through the same time consuming trial and error as you did. Good job!

Yes sir... shop at 50% humidity overnight. Currently 68% outside. Heater doing its job! Thanks again for all those that hung with me, provided advice, and encouragement! That was a tough troubleshoot.

This new jointer is so much bigger than my old 6in Delta that I need to get another length of dust collector hose to reach.

Yeah that is the scary part as the intermittent ground was two outlets away from where it is plugged in.

Since my shop time is irregular, I am now thinking of how I could turn on/off the heater from the house or phone maybe. Gonna have to do some research on smart thermostats I suppose.
