I dropped a video this morning. A short one. I tried to stay on the positive side with editing but it was a frustrating day. I am headed out there now to dig down and get my water line into the house. We have rain coming tomorrow and this weekend. I don’t want to ply in the soup.

David,

Sorry you are having such a time pulling that 10-3 wire! What others were saying is layout the wire and pull the conduit thru each section. But I guess you have likely gotten a 1 or 1 1/4 poly pipe to run this in now?

Also the UF wire can be direct buried and conduit only is needed at the exposed portion into the well head and house. I would say the majority of pump installs with UF or 3 Wire pump cable are not in conduit from house to well.

It makes no sense to pull UF through conduit. Either direct bury it, or use THHN in the conduit.
Well, THWN for underground conduit, but most wire is rated for both THHN/THWN...

Edit: And David, don't feel too bad. Everyone undersizes conduit until they do it a couple times and realize that you can't have it too big... If the conduit fill tables say 3/4" will work, then 1.5" sounds good to me. Maybe 1.25" if it is shorter.

I went with 1 inch poly and it worked. It was still not easy. If for some reason, it fails, I will just lay another UF diect at about 24 inches.

My UF to well is direct buried beside the water line. 25 yrs so far no problems.

Same here - 24 years - 3 wire submersible wire from switch to well head to pump. No conduit no issues - just ran a short piece of poly pipe at the well head from the pitless into the well cap and a short section thru the house wall connection.

Glad you got it connected David - one more check off on the list!

This weekend I am going to try to-get water connected to the house and power the pump. Got to figure out a few things and make sure it is easily scaled to implement the boiler later

Compared to my World, David has very rocky soil. I'd want conduit. I'd have used 2" so pulling would be easy.

At the top of the well, is there supposed to be some kind of bracket that holds the rope? Where the heck do I tie that rope?
