The well line was installed last weekend. I put in a stainless eyebolt today and tied off the rope, then connected the electric ( well line to the pump line.)Went inside and installed/connected the pressure tank and manifold (pressure switch, pressure relief valve , gauge , hose bib and the pressure relief valve.
I installed the 30 amp breaker and ran the 10/2 line. Hooked up the pimp control box and finally, I turned it on.
We have water. I don’t have the inside stuff connected, but we have clear water with no smell at our i have not shocked the well so I didn’t taste it. But I am encouraged. I have never put a breaker in a panel before.
The pump and constant pressure system worked exactly as designed. I did find a few drips so I need to tighten some pieces up next week. I am amazed because I put those pieces in “Gorilla tight”.
This was the most intimidating part of the build for me so far. Electricity has always been mysterious and frightening to me. I have read all about it. I am a relatively intelligent person (I think). But electricity has always freaked me out. I had a friend get hit with 240 in the army. I will never forget the sound of his shrill scream or the smell. He survived, but only because another soldier basically snatched him off the ladder he was on. His breath smelled like cooked meat and he had a 3 inch circle burn on the top of his head. The guy who snatched him off had a small burned cut/ tissue disruption on the back of his elbow at the bottom of his tricep.
Btw I made a mistake today while hooking up the breaker but caught it and fixed it.
Hiring someone to put the panel in was the best thing I could have done and that disconnect gives me a lot of peace of mind when I am inside the panel.
I didn’t take any pictures with my phone but there should be some good video.
