I have this past weekend’s footage up.

I hope you guys like it. Keep those questions coming. It helps keep me on my toes for things that I did not think of already

Rob, when I am up there today I will try to take some video of the channels that they put in place for the electrical just to give you a full Idea and visual of what it is.

I can’t believe I screwed this up. SIPs house mistake I can?t believe I screwed this up. SIPs house mistake - YouTube

Please don't get bent out of shape, but you need to find some extra labor before someone gets hurt on that job. Not to mention it would make your day more productive and less stressful.

Not bent out of shape at all. Just cant always have help. Budget doesn’t cover labor. I have to use what I have. Im hoping to get a couple days labor out of my boys. One coming home from military and one from college.

Was the header too short to sit on the jack? I couldn’t tell from the video.

The panel is five feet wide exactly. For the header to work, it needs to be 5,3”. So that it sits on the jack on each side. The jack is recessed into the next panel and flush with the osb skin. Does that description make sense?

I cut the jack out that night. I didn’t want the adhesives to dry because I figured that would make it nearly impossible to get out, without destroying the panel.

Good explanation. I think your project is awesome. You deserve to have a lot of pride in it.

Short story -Yesterday, I was on my way to work when I got a call from a shipping company. Timbers were on the way.
Long story-I have been trying for almost a month to arrange shipment of my timbers from a mill in North Carolina.
Four weeks ago, when I purchased the Beams and they started cutting them for me, I got a quote from a shipping company for delivery, but they said it would have to be on tractor trailer. When my first load of Panels came by 40 foot hotshot, I realized that a 53 foot trailer was never going to make it up our road. So I started calling hot shot companies and trying to contract delivery. I was getting nowhere. They were listing the job but no-one was interested in taking it. I was even trying to figure out a way to have the freight offloaded somewhere nearby and transferred to a smaller truck.
Two days ago, I called back the original company I got the quote from and told the guy who I had dealt with, my issue. I was willing to have the load broken up into two shipments, but he thought it could be done on one load. We signed a contract and charge authorization and yesterday morning he called and said they had a driver picking it up. So I called my boss, turned around and came home. The load showed up just before dark and it took 2.5 hours to get it unloaded. The driver was really helpful. We got the Fir beams offloaded and stickered. I gave the guy a heavy tip and thanked him profusely. That is the last big delivery for main construction.
We have them wrapped in plastic and ready to go.
I am sure many will ask why I didnt just order locally and let them deliver. Simple answer is Cost. The cheapest local delivery would have been $6,000 more than My total cost. Highest quote I got was $20,000 difference. I took some video last night but it was getting dark so I dont know what I ended ip with.
