My Industrial Cabin Build

I went to the land today to take a load of stones from the old fallen chimney near the house we rent. The are huge and I used my landlords John Deere 5500 to carry them.
When I got to the farm and fired up my Kioti RX 7320 I swapped out the bucket for a grapple and I put the box blade on (I sprayed last weekend) so i had dropped the sprayer but had nothing on the back. I then drove to the home site to get the rocks and I overheated on the way. I popped the hood and found a big mouse nest on top of the radiator. There was some crap on the screen and the radiator reservoir was empty. I filled the reservoir, got rid of the nest and cleaned the screen. I started the tractor and it ran fine for 5 minutes then overheated. I checked the reservoir and it was still full. Since it was hot I didn’t pop the cap on radiator. I will run thru some standard troubleshooting tomorrow.
I don’t even know if the thermostat is in a place I can get to it.

You need to open the radiator and top it off!!!! If it's full then consider thermostat. A bit odd that this problem showed up after the mouse incident.

Is there a screen in front of the radiator that is plugged up?

That fluff is the invisible enemy.

Be sure to check the coolant level again in a couple hours of runtime just in case you have a slow leak.

I plan to keep a close eye on that coolant issue.

This weekend we made some good progress on the house. I am trying to get caught up on editing but I really feel like it takes more time to do my regular job now. I don’t have the commute but there is so much else that I have to try to keep up with these days and telecommuting every day is a challenge. I am truly grateful that i have a job that lets me do that. It just requires a little more time to do my same work level.
Here is a video I put together from last weekend.

During the day, especially in the morning, its buzzing with so many bees you can almost feel the noise. Lots of honey bees but even more mason bees.
That spot in the orchard is one of my favorite places on the farm. The view is special. 4 years ago, when I was clearing that area, I almost ceased to exist. I was pushing hard and pulling 12 hour days out there and my track on the excavator went into a giant stump hole and I nearly turned it over. Thats one of the things that makes me take my time more and start shutting down when it gets close to dark. Especially if I am alone. Now I say that but that push hard gene is strong in me and I have to remind myself of it from time to time.

Good you have bees.. my dad always had about 10 apple trees in his orchard. Northern Spy was a favorite for applesauce.

Slow forward progress. We have the rafters up on the master bedroom side of the house. This week, I ordered all the hardware to secure the post and beam for the main room.
The price for mounting plates is very expensive. Ordering them online is astronomical. The brackets run anywhere from $20 to $60 each. And I needed 84 of them. I had them made at a local machine shop for about $8.50 each
I was proud of myself for overcoming that issue but I hadn’t ordered the bolts and nuts yet

So this week, I did. I have 20 6 foot ling 3/4 inch threaded rod and 300 nuts and 600 washers being delivered this week. Those cost more than the plates. And I still have to cut them down to size.

Here is a video from last weeks work.
