Is the new plate welded just to the cross piece or also to the "arms" of the loader? As Highbeam noted, it seems kinda odd to weld a big plate to a thinner one unless the big plate is also anchored to the arms.

Do you know if this was the dealers idea or the "official" Kioti prescribed repair?

I am no welding expert, but as I understand it your going to need a pretty powerful weld to join a 3/8 plate - so powerful that I can easily see it burning though 1/16. Maybe someone with more experience than myself can comment to that.

I don't believe the 1/16" is correct.

The cross member on my KL130 loader is somewhere between 3/8"-1/4". The holes that hold the access plate on are tapped/threaded through the plate. 1/16" would not hold a thread.
