I'm disappointed. The collective noun for ostriches is simply a flock. Not very evocative at all. However, the South American cousin of the ostrich is the Rhea and their collective noun is a mob /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif. I'm thinking that would work better in this instance. Welcome to the mob of disappointed Kioti fans.

If all is going per plan, my loader should be being replaced as we speak. On one hand I want to use it heevily to be sure that any failures occur under warranty and on the other hand I want to baby the heck out of it so that it lasts as long as possible.

I can't imagine the Kioti fix costing much to implement even if I had to pay out of pocket after the warranty expires.

( I reported my loader cracks to my dealer last week and provided photos today. He quickly called Kioti to ask about a service bulletin. Believe it or not he was told that (paraphrased) "there have been a few of these cracks reported but not enough to issue a service bulletin".)

If this is indeed what your dealer was told, and Kioti doesn't come up with a suggested fix for the dealers to go by, I'm sure that we can all be as prolific about this problem as we are in our praise so far for the brand.

I may sing a lot of praises for Kioti, but when they prove me wrong in an instance such as this, I will be just as vociferous in my condemnation.

I must, however, state that two months since Joe first reported his breakage, and only a few others generated here on TBN may be the reason for the statement. I agree that everyone with a crack should pursue a fix and insist that Kioti direct the repair through their prospective dealers, now.

Let them know that there are more than a few out here waiting for a proper fix.

John

JK, I concur. I'll forward via email to my dealer the list of people who replied to the thread Loader crack roll call thread started by Bearhawk where both KL130 and KL120 owners reported their status. Please report 1) tractor model, 2) date of purchase, 3) engine hours, 4) number and types of cracks, 5) some identifier e.g. IslandTractor . I can get the information Bearhawk has already collated from those who replied to the original thread so there is no reason to report twice (unless you did not report some of the detail noted).

Although it would be best if we could get those owners who have taken the cover plate off but not idenfied any cracks to report that status as well, that should be a new thread as otherwise it will be confusing. Right now we just want to be able to give Kioti an idea of how many of these repairs are hovering.

In a couple of days I will copy all the info into an email and send it to my dealer to forward to Kioti.

Thanks all.

It may be awkward for a manufacturer to fix a part AFTER it broke rather than replace it. Off hand, I can't think of any examples of that. I had an implement once where others had broken in the field and the manufacturer sent me a plate to weld on BEFORE mine broke. I wouldn't be surprised if Kioti's engineers know how to handle this but their lawyers don't.
