Couple quick comments:

1. The R4's were a little rough on the ground when I first got the tractor home. Then I took the loader off and they have been fine. If I would have known about the bar/turf option, I think I may have gone that route. The turf/R4 dilema was one of the most deliberated choices of recent time for me.

2. On the first day I forgot to mention that I took all the stupid "lawyer" stickers off the tractor. I think they look ridiculous and I wanted to get them off while it was still easy and there was no fading. There were two stickers, one on the deck and one on the fender that are a little different and did not come off easy so they are still on for the time being.

3. I haven't removed the deck yet...only plan to once a year when the mowing season is over. I'll clean it, change the oil and then try to hang it up in the barn till the spring.

Congratulations on your new tractor. Did you need any solvent to get the stickers off or did they just peel off? I've also taken a couple off my tractor, they didn't come easy. I hope your dog is just taking a stroll past your tractor in the picture.

No solvent...most just came right off. Like I said there were a couple that didn't want to just peel right off so I left those on there for now.

Dog is trying to get off. I kept trying to get a picture of her on there but she doesn't like the tractor...oh well.

I started to look at the larger 54" cut Cubs and Deeres - ($1.5 - 2k). Then I figured I should get a new one as it's really not that much more and I'd rather just have new ($2.5 - 3k).

...they tried to talk me into a new x500 ($5.5k). Not a bad idea...But then I figured for just $2-3k more than the x500 I could get a nice used BX that would do a lot more ($7 - 9k).

Fine...I'll just get a new one...they seem to hold their value pretty well ($12 - 13k) I thought...

quotes came back just shy of 14k (BX2360). Oh well...what's another $1 - 2k. March rolls around and I hear they have 0% financing for 60 months and no cash discount? Well...if I'm going to spend that much let me jump up to a B series...

So I ended up ordering a B2320 for what a lot of people spend on cars.

It's ok to go down a slippery slope while tractor shopping...just be sure to stay off them after you've bought one! :D

You would have thought the dealer would have filled the fuel tank on your new Kubota:mad:

Congratulation on your new tractor! I live not far from you in Landenberg, PA (Chester Co.) and have dealt with Messick's. They are good people. I bet that the lack of fuel was an oversight since you picked it up close to closing time. Enjoy your new machine. - Mike
