:)
Completed greasing, BH removal, 3PH install, Box Blade Test, Landscape Rake test, BH re-install and excavation of 4 spots for my wife;s raised garden beds.
Now over 15 hours. :D All is working great!

The pallet forks are Northstar BF1000W, 36", normal sold for $450 at my dealer but I had a package deal. Easy to instlall!

Jt, how many spots did you find to grease? :D

Wow! Your going to have 200 hours on it before I get 25.:) I haven't greased mine yet. I've been using my BX2660 since I have the tiller installed on it and am in tiller mode now. :)

Tiller arrives next week! :D And a tooth bar! :D
Not quite ready for tiller yet as my yard needs a lot of BH work.
See, told you I would catch up to you!
Still trying to decide if I should try the front blade?
Really need snow or soft sand for my test, so I will wait.
Wed. I will buy diesel as my full tank from dealer will be gone.

will you be putting fuel stabilizer in when you fill up? my dealer told me to put it in my fuel every time i fill up but i was wondering if it is needed in the spring summer time?

Chris, you'll find the debates on that here at TBN as exciting as the sudt/udt or dino/sythetic oil "conversations". :):)

No, it isn't absolutely necessary in the summer, if you have great fuel. The problem is that in some areas of the country, there is not consistently good fuel and some areas mandate this and that (bio) be added for political reasons.

Kerosene and snake oil, many guys call it. Good insurance others claim. You are gonna have to make up your own mind in the end. An ounce per 3 gallon can? It won't break your pocket book. The winter? Given the number of gelled fuel filters reported here at TBN last winter, well, you'd get a lot of support for the idea. Do I do it year around? Yes, I do. It's my tractor and I am old enough to make my own decision. :)

as bp pick says chris- there gonna be a debate over little simple words like treat feul, winterizing, summerizing, etc.

In my mind, when i hear the word feul stablizer, I think of gas. When I hear the word conditioner, I think of diesel. These words have been used interchangably but whatever that not the point here. I know there is gray bottle from power service but I don't use it. I continue to use the white bottle from power service since its only a splash of the stuff to be used since its what I had on hand. It boosts the cetane numbers a little so I get a better start. shorter glow time and no black smoke is good in my book.

At what temperature range does the "gel" issue become a concern?
I am now at 25 hours on my BX25, but the weather has been warm.

These guys say about all of it for me. I also use and have always used the white bottle Power Service, just a big splash with each 5 gallon container. Buy mine at Wal Mart. Does it help, I don't know if it improves anything or not, I became convinced years ago by a previous thread to use it and always have. I don't get black smoke and mine starts well at all seasons. Do I recommend it? Not saying that, just saying I use it.:)

kaykin- are you ready to have your brain in a dizzy spell?

You shouldn't be concerned with the gelling point at this point, but more of clouding point. Diesel tends to cloud up when temps are near 32 degrees. the clouding is parrafin crystals in regular dino diesel and wax in bio. This can start to plug up the filters and your BX has 2 of them. When diesel starts to gel when it gets below 32 degrees and gels up at 0 degrees.

Keep in mind, if you have reached cloud point or gelled feul- the ungel or uncloud point is higher then the clouding or gelling point. So warming gup the air around the tractor is important when you have no kerosene or 911 bottle on hand.

Using a winter blend of diesel will prevent this issue, or treating your feul with additives or blending with kerosene. Note: blending with kerosene is hard to do precisely becuase you are taking the oil lubricating properties away as you thin diesel. It will help you in a pinch if it happens to you with gelling and you need to get up and going by adding straight kero to your tank.

Try googling the words diesel cloud point and gelling. Educating yourself is the best way to decide how to take care of your new BX and keep it running 24/7.

OK! Google complete! Add Power Service to all diesel I buy, I am sold!
Just filled up for my first time yesterday but will stop at WalMart today. :(
