Tractor News My New BX25 ARRIVED TODAY!

   / My New BX25 ARRIVED TODAY! #41
Thanks JT! :D Property had horses for years. I have one area near my workshop (former 4 stall barn) where they dumped the horse manure.

Years ago I was in Virginia & wife commuted to DC so no tractor need then.
Told dealer to bring 50 hr service supplies when he delivers the tiller!
Did not want to give the BX25 up for the week to have them service it. :D

My first pass with box blade on path pulled up several rocks 6-8" in diameter!
Current herb garden excavation uncovered 12-18" rocks! :D

How big a rock can I move? When can I exceed 2000 rpm break-in limit?

Enjoy the day, 34F here too!
I've exceeded 2000 RPMs most of the time I've used mine. I just haven't done full throttle. Those are small rocks for your tractor. As far as size, there's shoving and there's lifting. Then there's shoving and lifting down hill, up hill and on level ground. I know how big I can handle when it picks it up then I can handle it. When it won't budge then I know it's to big.:D Just be careful when you carry them and keep your bucket almost touching the ground and be ready to drop your bucket instantly and go slow. When you try lifting a biggun, be ready to drop because it's a bit scary when you lift bucket up and your tractor comes way off the ground on one side.:) I don't think you'll break anything by trying, it just won't do it. Here's one of my small to medium size rocks. I've got a bunch of big rocks I can't start to move but I've been able to move some bigguns.

Kayakin2,
Have you put on the BXpanded bucket hooks yet? If so, any problems? Mine came yesterday and do not want to go on my BX24.

C6rider,

I didn't have any issues installing my BXpanded bucket hooks, mine went on in less than a minute. Not sure if my attached picture will help with your installation of your hooks. Any chance that the top lip of your FEL is bent a little which could cause a problem? Maybe Harry from BXpanded will chime in to assist you.

Let me know if a different angled picture will help you.

The front edges of mine don't come as low as the edge of the bucket. Yours extend below it on the front. That's why my locks won't go "over center" and lock in place. It needs to go on further but can't. I put a call into Harry.

I had the same issue with two of the 3 hooks I bought. I applied a little grease and used the hooks to lift something and the finally went on far enough to work the latches in the holes. The latches do not snap down to the bucket but the top of the 'v's are now about all about one inch from the bucket and seem to be staying latched. The 2010 BX25 FEL buckets must be slightly different.
The hooks work great! :D

They should go all the way to the bucket. If they don't "snap" then they're not on right. I will talk to Harry on Monday. Mine is a '08 BX24 and has basically the same problems as yours. Way too much money not to fit correctly.

Worked with Harry and we got mine to work OK. Required a little "adjustment" due to the variations in Kubota buckets. If they don't snap back up on their own they are AOK.

Yes this is a reoccurring discussion with strong opinions on both sides. I have used several different additives and the only thing I now keep on hand is the HEET in the yellow bottle for use in diesels. I have gotten some water in my fuel and this really cleared it up.

I have spoken with farmers who depend on their tractors for a living and spoke with my renters about a week ago. He runs tractors from 47 to 325 HP as well as other equipment and has storage tanks at our farm and three other locations. They don't use anything in any of their equipment/storage.

We don't have the long periods of extremely cold weather here as those north of here and extremes in climate will influence some of this.

Just an observation and your results may vary.

I am so glad I am reading this post. I had the same question. I had a really bad experience 2 years ago. Had a craftsman snow blower. Salesman recommended fuel stabilizer. I used it diligently. During one storm when I really needed the blower, it wouldn't start. Thought I had a vacuum lock issue. turned out the stable made the fuel lines soft and they collapsed (Pinched). called Craftsman 1800 service number and they said yes they had numerous complaints and had posted an EC recommending to discontinue use of stable in there snow blowers. So I have been wondering if I should add to 'Bota fuel this winter. Still on the fence with this one.

Kayakin2 ,
Congrats on your 'Bota , I love my BX25. My better half uses it as much as I do. I am very Happy Sherry is comfortable with it's size and it is not intimidating to her.
