Correct
Brown Dog, Did you say that you also trimmed the center metal guard/deflector for the transmission? Have you gotten a chance to mow without the skids on?
I did Notch around the bolts on each side & trim about an inch off the metal brace in center.
I have not removed the two skids yet.
A buddy with his Toro 60” SD Deck helped me mow here all evening today in Heavy Thick 6+ inch grass.
I had a firsthand experience with SD & RD clippings mowing at 3” back & forth : not in circles.
My RD left light clumps evenly spread out.
His SD left a 12” wide windrow with side chute flipped up out of the way.
Neither one looked good so I’m undecided lol
Sorry no pix.
But, was the wind blowing and which one of you had more cut grass blow on you? Also which one of you had the choice of doing psycho mowing of circles and box mowing from outer edge to inner center or center inside box mowing in a square to outside edge? Traditional back and forth ends up with double cutting the same grass with SD where there is no double cutting of grass with RD so SD should leave finer cut grass clippings, not saying good or bad. Also SD can only cut close to objects on one side so only going in one direction and trees are usually round so SD will blow out a pile in a circle that has to be dealt with as well as limiting choices of mowing directions by only having one side for up close cutting.
I'm now sold on SD with mulching kit but getting ready to retest my ZD1211 RD myself today or tomorrow to see if grandson had it at full throttle the last time he mowed with it after just getting the machine.
The SD Pilot did get covered with clippings.
I hate being limited to one direction with SD to keep clippings off of buildings & out of the road.
All of My Dang neighbors blow their clippings into the road : Burns Me Up !!!
