Oh I gotcha. For your fence lines let me suggest a hot mix of gly, mojave and surfactant. It’ll keep them looking good all year and nothing will grow up.

Brett

Brett, I use a 2.5-3.0% mix of RM43 (43.68%) glyphosate and surfactant. The RM43 also contains imazapyr which has some soil activity and extends the kill along my fence lines. I use 2.5% on fence that I control both sides and 3% on our perimeter fences. I rarely have to treat more than once per year because of the imazapyr.

I use a 2.5% mix of Roundup Custom Aquatic (53.8%) Glyphosate and non-ionic surfactant around our waters.

I’ve had really good results eliminating lily pads that showed up on our small tank 2 years ago.

3 weeks ago prior to treatment.

2 weeks ago, 1 week Post treatment.

I’ve since sprayed a lot of the sedge around that tank. I’ll get a current picture tomorrow. I’m getting a really good kill on the sedge.

Here pictures from a couple days ago.

The lily pads are completely gone.

Getting good kill on the sedge I’ve sprayed.

I’m going to wait a couple of months before spraying any more of the sedge so I don’t overload this tank with too many nutrients and have an oxygen issue. This one is full of catfish.

I’ve started spraying cat tails and smartweed on the big tank. Same with it, I’ll spray in stages to keep the bass happy.

I’m taking the ZD1211 over to Dealer Monday, for its 50 hour service, just to have that documented.

Only problem I’ve had with is that the cutting height adjust is really hard to turn so, hopefully dealer will figure that out. (Yes, I’m trying to adjust with deck raised.)

Meant to ask you, what is mojave? That’s a new one on me.

Place looks great!

This is mojave. It’s bad to the bone and works great. Glad the ponds are clearing up!

OK. It’s got imazapyr in it. That’s what gives you extended kill. Imazapyr has residual soil activity that glyphosate doesn’t have. Same as the RM43.

I’m curious out the Diuron though? What benefit does it give you?

“Diuron is a substituted urea herbicide used to control a wide variety of annual and perennial broadleaf and grassy weeds. It is used to control weeds and mosses on non-crop areas and among many agricultural crops such as fruit, cotton, sugar cane and legumes. Diuron works by inhibiting photosynthesis.”

Don’t get me lying! All I know is it’s expensive but works. The ground will be dirt pretty quick after spraying. The gly will get the quick kill and this sterilizes the ground. I could probably get about 4-5 miles of fence line on a 5lb bag

Are you a “Private Applicator” Brett?

If not, do the course work and get certified. It’s well worth your time. Not to preach but;

“Read the Label”. “The Label is the Law”.

Get to know your local Agri-Life Extension Agent. They are a wealth of help and information. Same for your local TPWD Agent.

Dropped my ZD1211 off at dealer, in Sealy, for 50 hour service, when they opened yesterday morning. Dropped my trailer there and went and ran errands in Bellville and Brenham.

Got back to Sealy and had lunch at DQ then picked up the ZD at 2 pm. Great Service. Had a conversation with owner, before leaving, and complimented his great Service Department.

If you are in our area, I can’t recommend a better Kubota Dealer than Sealy Tractor.

We’ve had 4 1/2” of rain over Tuesday and Wednesday so, too wet to mow today. Installed new Oregon Gator Blades (396-814) and anxious to see a big improvement over the stock Kubota blades.

Will try tomorrow and ....... report back.
