8 hrs on my recently purchased ZD1211, wish I’d done three things different:
(1) Concerned about being under powered I chose the 60” over 72”.
Trimming in pasture, out of curiosity, I purposely ventured into some tall thick stuff - went through it like a champ. Motor barely changed its tune, but the deck didn’t discharge the grass as quick as I’d liked, so possible choking situation. (Keep in mind this is thick tall stuff normally cut with tractor & rotary cutter.)
(2) Definitely wish I had chosen a rear discharge. Will have to modify grass deflector before it gets ripped off.
(3) Why didn’t I buy a ZTR years ago? Often stated that we need a Cat dozer with a belly mower attachment around our property. Got the ZD1211 in a couple of muddy spots that our GR 2120 wouldn't have even spun a wheel, but it’s a lop sided trade when you compare cutting times.
All in all, VERY happy ZD owner!

"Will have to modify grass deflector before it gets ripped off."

My previous ZT was a John Deere Z820A with side discharge 60" deck.

I drilled a 1/4" hole, near the outer edge of the hinged deflector, so I could hold it up vertical with a short bungee cord. It stayed up a majority of the time as it threw the clipping our further.

Our new ZD1211 is rear discharge 72" deck.

Are those factory fender extensions below fuel tanks?

Mine didn’t come with the fender extensions.

I bought mine in June 18. Right off truck and put together. Strange Ill see if mine has mounting spot for them

Even if you look online at pictures of new ones for sale at dealers not one 2019 has them. Are you in Canada or something lol?

My mower has nuts welded under tank to bolt fenders on. Now I want them. With all the rain this spring it’s been a muddy mess

If you get a chance do me a favor. See if there’s any visible part number on those. Thanks!

No abusive usage here, just myself on a normal lawn.

Grass got stuck in the right front deck wheel preventing it from turning.
Didn't take long to put a flat spot on it.

Rear deck wheels are held by single flange, already bent.
Needs two flanges or thicker steel.

Maybe the deck was riding little too close to the ground in the rear?

I don’t see any numbers on mine. I’ll stop by my Kubota Dealer and see what they know.

My bracket plates are bent too for the rear deck wheels BUT it’s my fault hanging them on trees.

I’d like to take the brackets off under the Rear Discharge Deck to help On Windrows But it would let Blades scalp the ground on hi ridges.

Four hours on the new ZD 1211 and could not be happier. A real upgrade over my ZD1800 that is now on the dealers showroom. Two areas in my yard I have to watch and the 60" deck is just enough larger to cause scalping whereas the 54" deck on the ZD1800 would not. No big thing and I like the increased power, ease of raising and lowering the deck ( need learn to keep my foot off the peddles) and the new seat is fantastic compared to the one on the traded ZD 1800 twelve years makes a difference. Some of the mowing was in thick grass well over foot tall and the 1211 never even slowed down. Good buying decision

You must be mowing with the deck awfully low ?

anyone use a Oregon # 91-144 with a modified hole, or 92-049 with correct hole.
I'm looking for something that will result in stripes ?

I mow at 1 1/2 in in the spring too entice the Bermuda to spread. As the temps get up ( June on) I mow at 2 inches. Earlier this week was my last 1 1/2 " mow for the season as we are going to have our first 100 degree day this weekend

I wish I had bought a 72'' 1211 instead of the 60'' 1021
Don't get me wrong. the little 1021 is a beast ! I just need 72 inch cut.
