My New Kubota ZD1211 Mower

IMHO, the Gators work really well for mulching as long as grass, etc. is not too dry or too wet. Too dry = creates a powder and too wet creates a green mush far worse than normal. These were my results on an older ZD with 60 pro deck.

I know about the "green mush" I use the Gator Blades on my ZD21 and I like them for chopping leaves, however I mow a picnic area that the grass stays wet all day. When I use the Gator Blades, I have to stop about half way through and I have to stop and clean out the underside of the deck. When I use the standard Kubota blades, they throw the wet grass out and doesn't clog the underside of the deck.

Oh, I can't do without the RTV, and Ron is still holding the owners manual hostage.:p The 1500 would be a nice little brother for my BX2200, but I don't have a place to keep it inside and it's too little to sleep in the open.

I’ve had the new ZD1211 for almost six weeks and have clocked 49 hours on it. I’m taking it to dealer, for its 50 hour check, this week so that it’s documented.

I’m extremely pleased with everything about but, the highly touted Kubota blades. I used Oregon Gator mulching blades on our previous John Deere Z820 A Mower just about from day one. They cut well and I got a lot of hours between sharpening blades.

I’m going to sharpen the Kubota blades and give them one more chance. If that fails I’ll install the set of Oregon Gator 396-814 blades I bought on eBay.

I was looking for something else and came across this Zero turn spray rig today.

Zero Spray Product Info - Tide Industries

Interesting concept but, wonder about adding 200+ lbs. (25 gallons x 8.34 lbs.) on top of the front axel? They are just under $1000 plus another $130 for the marking tool, plus shipping.

Looks like a $100 sprayer on a $900? angle iron frame?

Anyone seen or used one?

I’ve been getting right at 10 hours between fill ups with diesel. Nice to fuel it from our bulk diesel tank. Hauling 25-30 gallons of gasoline/ month with the John Deere was getting old.

With our recent lack of rain and dusty conditions, I’ve had to really watch engine temperature. It normally operates at 2 bars, until I get build up on external screens and the screen in front of the radiator. If it goes to three bars (of ten) I check external screens, brush grass off of them, and keep mowing.

How many acres do you need sprayed? I do spraying with my buggy for friends and family. Have a 20’, 30’ boom and then boomless nozzles and gps. Might pencil out better to have it done depending on how much. Besides, I wouldn’t ever want to spray in front of me. The wind changes and it’s in your face.

I have enough fert and herbicide for 70 acres sitting on the trailer now. I do quite a bit

I do most with my 60 gallon 3 point sprayer but, with all our trees, the tractor cabs are too high to get under most of them. I’m just looking for a way to get around under trees. I’ve already got a 15 gallon spray rig I carry around in back of Polaris Ranger, primarily for spraying fencelines with glyphosate mix.

The Zero Spray was just an interesting concept so, I was wondering if anyone had see or used one.

Oh I gotcha. For your fence lines let me suggest a hot mix of gly, mojave and surfactant. It’ll keep them looking good all year and nothing will grow up.
