Yep..... EBAY has a HUGE security problem !! I think there is a scam for every three legitimate auctions. I have been using Craigslist alot more than EBAY lately, but now there are plenty of scams showing up there too. Buyer beware !

I cannot disagree with you. And it is all very frustrating. Frankly, I had hoped to end up high bidder with "reserve not met" and maybe gotten a second chance offer or otherwise negotiated a fair and workable price. This throws out everything like it never happened and the seller must start again from scratch.

Craigslist is excellent for a lot of stuff... but I haven't seen any real bargains on tractors, backhoes or skidsteers lately. No real ones anyway (always plenty of fakes). Seems like everyone is asking top dollar often for some very worn out stuff.

Meanwhile, due to a weird combination of a high bidder's bid retraction on one "no reserve" item and a still pending "best offer" on another item... I am suddenly and unintentionally on the hook for two different machines this morning.

Dougster, I've been watching this thread since you started bidding....I didn't say anything before as I thought maybe you had known this, but this is NOT the first time that tractor has been on Ebay....The same thing happened about a couple of months ago....I remember because I noted the bent exhaust stack.....its even the same picture that was used before. I'm of the opinion that you lucked out by NOT getting this unit. Don't worry, all things come to those who wait.....(personnaly, I'm pretty impatient though) BobG in VA

I do remember the same machine appearing elsewhere. I did not recall it being on eBay. Seems I would have remembered that... but maybe not.

Well, time will tell. I'm anxious to see what the seller's next step will be. EBay appears to have blamed a bad bidder (or bidders) for the cancellation... but the statement is ambiguous enough that it could have been a seller issue as well.

As of this minute, I still have a "best offer" outstanding on one machine (5 hours left to go on that offer before it expires) and because of an unexpected and rare bid retraction earlier today on another machine with no reserve, I became the high bidder on it as well.

Fortunately, the "best offer" expired (did the same for another bidder... seller must have been asleep!) and someone exceeded my maximim bid on the other "no reserve" auction with the bid retraction. I am off the hook for two machines... Thank God!!!

No relisting yet on the used 7520. Very strange under the apparent circumstances of one or more bad bidders. Or maybe the seller is just disappointed and/or fed up with eBay.

Only time will tell.
