Hey, I LOVE texas too !! Never been there, but i hear they have an electric chair or two...... AND USE THEM !!! God bless America !!
Hey Ductape,
They call the chair Old Sparky. It is about 23 miles up the road from me in Huntsville. They used it the other night. I think the news said that was #400 since starting executions again.

Well, to get back on topic: 16 hours to go and I am still high bidder on that used "FEL-less" 7520... but it's still below the reserve. My prediction that this monster was going to go quickly at the "Buy It Now" price was obviously wrong. The "Buy It Now" price still seems close to reasonable if you want aggie tires, don't want an FEL and don't have to travel far to view or transport.

Upon further inspection of the pix, I did note that the canopy is bent on the left side (along with the stack on the right). With the grill also a bit crushed in, it does kinda make you wonder about the condition of the left side (as Robert had mentioned) and why there is no left side photo.

I do get all excited whenever I see a used 7520 for sale privately or at auction anywhere East of the Mississippi. I really felt that this one was my new machine given the low starting bid. But apparently not. Unless the reserve comes down enough on the next round to justify all my other expenses of purchase, transport and outfitting, I'll have to leave this one for somebody down South with simple "no FEL" bush-hogging in mind.

I thought that every place in the east was within driving distance.:D You guys drive across states in less time than we can go through counties out here.
I think you ignore the antique, undersized, dilapidated roads and horrible traffic congestion. All the toll and fuel tax money collected for roads has gone into social welfare programs and the pockets of corrupt politicians here in good ole Taxachusetts.

MtnView, going to visit my brother in the next state takes nearly seven hours....though i could probably get to Dougster's house in under an hour. But.... why the heck would i want to go to Massachusetts??? Keith, i hear that about Ky. I have often told Whats-Her-Name we need to move closer to middle america. Each year i feel more and more that we are square pegs in round holes. Especially since our state turned blue. Our governor just signed a budget 15% over last years. Not much longer till folks are fleeing our state like they've done south of here in Massachusetts. Too bad most of both our families are here, makes it harder to leave. Dougster, i think your feelings on Maine are based on the fact that you have not gone far enough north. Where my brother lives, there is no local police dept. (something you'd appreciate), and you have to drive 40 minutes or so to hit the nearest traffic light. Now THATS livin' !!
I've been all the way to the extreme Northern tip of Maine. Even crossed over into Canada (they almost didn't let me back in 'cause I look so suspicious!). Great country in the summertime... probably not so great in winter! :) Maybe with a little of that "global warming" thang it will be tolerable in winter someday! :D

It's not just that I want to go back to rural living and "Middle America" as you say. That's certainly a big part of it. But I also want to live where I feel like I belong... and where family (that still occasionally needs me) is less than a 3-4 hours drive away. No planes and crazy TSA hassles. Just gasoline and a few hours on the road.

I don't want to leave civilization entirely. I just want some distance and tax relief from it! :D

Tick, tick, tick ...... the minutes are counting down ! That sure does seem like alot of tractor for that kinda money. Dougster..... you might as well bump up the bid a little, you may just hit reserve !

Brandi,
I pretend every time my lights dim here, its because they fired up "old sparky" again. If it weren't for all our family being up here, we'd be headed down in your direction. Texas sounds like my kinda state.

Unfortunately, the lead has just been taken over by a new eBayer with no feedback or track record (also known as a "new zero") who is only suddenly bidding on this one item and no others within the last 30 days. I do not bid against new zeros. I especially don't bid against new zeros that have not bid nor are bidding on any other item. Draw your own conclusions. Real or fake... strawman, joker or deadbeat... bidding against a new zero is always a total waste of time.

Ductape,
The way this country's electrical grid is, you might be right. :D I have heard the lights dim in Huntsville when Sparky lites up.

Dougster,
I take it a Ebay new zero could mean someone is just trying to provoke you into increasing your bid?

You never know for sure anymore with the new bidder identity protection plan in place... but let's just say it's been done before.

But none of it really matters. Another bidder with deep pockets stepped in 7 seconds before the auction ended and placed a huge bid... equal to (or greater than) the reserve price. He now owns it at $14,500.00 (the reserve price). Even this surprise last minute megabuck bidder appears a little suspicious as none of his prior feedback or recent bidding activity has anything whatsoever to do with tractors or anything remotely similar. On the other hand, it does not appear to be a hijacked account. Very odd and confusing.

But it's a strange world on eBay. I just feel good that the seller if all this was on the level did quite well for a used, FEL-less 7520 with a few obvious warts. Given the appearance of this last minute megabucks bidder, one might even say that the seller should have had an even higher reserve price!

Regardless, I say: "All power to him"!!! :) I'm actually quite pleased he got what he wanted for it! We should all be so lucky!

Well, this is very interesting. Just got this email from eBay (and it is not a fake):

The listing in which you were a bidding participant:

280144422544 - Mahindra Tractor 2005 7520 4WD

has been ended by eBay. Since the listing was ended by eBay, for the transaction itself is null and void.

1st Choice - We ended the listing due to bidding activity that took place without the authorization of the owner of one of the accounts that bid on the listing. We have ended the listing to maintain the integrity of the eBay site and the bidder?s account that was accessed. We are working to restore the bidding account to its rightful owner, and we are working with the account owner to prevent any additional unauthorized activity.
or
2nd Choice - Due to privacy concerns, we cannot disclose the exact reason the listing itself was ended. However, we can inform you that we did not take any action on the seller's account for this listing.

ADD to either choice: As a result, we have informed the seller that they may relist their item if they wish to do so. Please feel free to re-bid on this item under the new item number. To locate the new item number, please check the sellers list of items at:

http://pages.ebay.com/search/items/search_seller.html

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you, and we thank you for being a part of the eBay trading community.

Regards,

Customer Support (Trust and Safety Department)
And now the on-line listing shows this:
This listing (280144422544) has been removed or is no longer available. Please make sure you entered the right item number. If the listing was removed by eBay, consider it canceled. Note: Listings that have ended more than 90 days ago will no longer appear on eBay.
Looks like something was fake about the bidders or bidding... possibly a hijacked account (or two) after all. Or something else violated eBay's bidding policies.

Hmmmmmmm...
