Finally got a place to park my JD 790!! This was my Santa to me LOL. I ordered an 18x21 through Carolina Carports in NC. They sent out three Hispanics in a dually with all the material on a long trailer last Saturday afternoon. It was pouring rain most of the time they were there, so they worked like mad to get it up so they could get out of the rain. I clocked them and it took right at 1 hr & 45 min to get 'er done lol. They still got soaking wet though! Cost was $1375 including about $69 state sales tax. The base cost was $695, but the 8ft high legs, one side enclosed, one gable end, and boxed eaves were extra features I ordered with it that added to the total cost. I have plans to eventually pour a pad and fully enclose it. Yeah, I know, it's easier to pour a pad and then build on top of it but I just needed something to get it out of the rain for now. This is at my parent's house which is where I keep my tractor at. Oh yeah, I did have to add some dirt towards the back end of it help level it up some.

That looks good, Keith. I think it really helps both the machine and the operator to be able to keep a tractor under roof.

Hah, it's already full!! A couple days after those last two pic's were made, I got my old '83 Toyota 4x4 truck cranked up (had to keep priming the carb by pouring gas in it!) and drove it underneath the carport beside the tractor. So, it's already filled up! I always heard that when you get (or build) a garage/storage building/carport, figure how much space you need then double it!! LOL.

Very Nice;) I need one like that to park my tractor, tent trailer, truck cap and firewood under. I just finished shoveling 3 feet of snow off the trailer and truck cap in the rain:mad:. That snow sure is heavy.

Nice looking cover.

Carolina Carports is one of the premier services in the eastern US. I am preparing to place a concrete pad soon and cover it with a 12' x 33' cover, and I'll use the same company.

Kebo: hey, that's one of the best looking carports I've seen. I'm looking for a 20'x20' size to install at the end of my driveway for the F150 and my new Mahindra 5525 tractor. I'll have to find a local (West Coast) vendor equivalent to Carolina Carports and see if I can find one like yours. You got a great deal on the price too.

Hey flusher, (and everyone else) thanks for the compliments! I will tell you that the common standard size closest to what you are looking at is 20x21, with the 20 ft dimension being the front and/or back. The sides would be the 21ft length. I imagine you can find someone that can build it 20x20, but it might run up the cost some since it would be a custom size from what I've seen here on the east coast.

I look back now and wish I had gone ahead and had the other side fully enclosed at the time it was built. I think I'm going to call Carolina Carports and see if I can purchase the same sheetmetal locally somewhere in SC. It's a very LONG drive from here to Mt. Airy NC! Oh well, we all know what they say about hindsight....

Check out T-N-T carports, that is the one I purchased last year and have been very pleased with it. The website says they deliver and setup in every state, through sub-contractors of course. Here is my thread with plenty of pictures.

I wonder whether there's any connection between "Carolina" and "T-N-T" carports. They look much the same and T-N-T is located in Mt. Airy, NC.

Kebo,

I built a stable for our two horses last year and bought custom cut metal from a local meononite. When I had our horse run in installed two weeks ago, I ordered burgundy sheet metal and it is the EXACT metal I purchased for the roof of our stable. So, I know you can buy it somewhere. Our 84 lumber has metal that is identical to my roofs. Just a thought.

The last time I talke with someone Carolina Carports, I asked that question. The answer was, "they are not connected with T-N-T Carports". They just happen to be close by one another.

I thought it would be odd that they'd use two different names, but to both be in the same town and making what appears to be almost identical products seemed odd, too. But maybe the competition keeps prices down.:D
