How do you find the 96" wide deck? The other brand available in my area has all 102" deck. Does the 96" feel narrow?

I don't understand those monster ramps, if they're up and you are using the full length of the trailer when flat, how do you put them back down?

I own one. The ramps will pin straight up if you need to. But most equipment will not take up the full trailer or you have a implement that you can leave up until you flip the ramps over. I like mine a lot. CJ

That isn't true.

It seemed to me that most states, maybe not all, have adopted the federal regs which is an GVWR combo over 26K lbs triggers the CDL. The exceptions are the hazardous materials transport, people transport, etc. I am curious as it appears many of the newer 1 ton trucks have much higher GVWR than same trucks from 5-6 yrs back and thus put a 14K trailer over the 26K limit.....Gary

Besides you can't dodge CDL buy under licensing the trailer.

Agreed!! You can get around needing a medical card though by staying under 10k though I believe? Anything over 17k combo requires a medical card in PA now. Anything combo'd over 26k requires a cdl. (there is the often quoted exception if the trailer is under 10k but the truck is between 16k and 25999)

If your doing any serious towing, just go get your cdl, its not difficult at all if you have ever driven any decent sized trailer.

Due to our GCVWR exceeding 26,000 with one of our horse trailers and her frequently traveling interstates and crossing state lines my wife and I ended up getting our CDL's.
We do not haul others horses or haul for money.
Leading up to it I tried everything I could think of to not have to do this. (Changing registered VRW).
Then went and spoke to the DOT officers that make the stops.
They go by vehicle tagging, not registered weight.

One gave me this flow chart that helps determine if a CDL is needed.

Also ended up registering as a combination which kicks the truck registration to nearly $500 per yr.
if it were only me I may not have done this and just taken the risk but I didn't want her dealing with being pulled over.
