<font color="red"> ? Didn't get it if this is a joke. Whats 1st language in TX then? </font>

Texan. It's supposed to be English, but no one but Texans can fully inderstand it.
It is a joke; it has to do with the drawling accent... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: My new \"Tak-Tak\"

Got it now. I had a Texan friend 10-15 years ago. He was a real cowboy, farmer and mountain climber. Even other Americans around us were having difficulties in understanding him.. and also me;)

Re: My new \"Tak-Tak\"

Nomad,
Just because the engine is MFG by Lombardini, Perkins, ETC does not mean all engines that MFG have are green engines. To have an engine design earn the title of a green engine it takes over $300,000 of expense just for the testing. THE EPA must have that exact engine certification on file that matches that engine. If the EPA requires a test, the importer pays for the simple test and if it fails the fine is levied and the engine is confiscated. Even a weed eater must have a Green Engine certification. I would not trust any MFG unless that product was listed with the EPA as having the Green Engine Certification.
You are showing you are a novice concerning exporting into the USA.

Re: My new \"Tak-Tak\"

What's your point, CCI? It seems to me that NOMAD's tak-tak is just as marketable in the USA for farm use, with a user supplied engine, as any gray market tractor, or more so, if that is his intention.

I actually thought he meant that there were so many Spanish Language speakers that English is almost a second language in Texas. Maybe you're right. John

That's what I thought, too, John.

And that's one reason things are so expensive here. Green this, green that, and next thing you know a $10,000 tractor costs $20,000. And, the $20,000 tractor is only a little bit "greener" for all the expense. Don't get me wrong, I'm for green. But not all out crazy militant green. Not burning SUV green, tying myself to a tree green, or crippling our economy green. We must compromise and balance things, and not mindlessly fight for 1 goal.

<Yawn> I gotta quit posting before coffee. Mmmmm... coooofffeee... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Have_blue, I thought you made a heck of a lot of sense and I agree with you. But then I'm on my way to make my morning coffee so maybe I'll think different after caffeine?

Nomad, I like your Tak-Tak! I have no use for one, but I tend to have more things around here that I don't/can't use than my wife likes me to have so I doubt I'd be in the market for one. But from the standpoint of a small farm or even a large garden center I could see a lot of use for a Tak-Tak.

That may be what he had in mind! But, as a non-Texan and a non-Hispanic, I can almost say that Spanish is easier to understand than Texan! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
