[quotenon-Hispanic, I can almost say that Spanish is easier to understand than Texan! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif )</font>

Whur's Jinman? I thawt he's be a-weighin' in on that un! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yea, the Tak-Tak is pretty cool. It's a pure work machine, just like a tractor. (pickup trucks used to be pure work machines, so we'll wait and see what happens). I need a Gator or golf cart or something that hauls 2 people and a little cargo. I hate to fire up the tractor for those little ticky-tack jobs. Or make that tak-tak jobs. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: My new \"Tak-Tak\"

Does anybody remember watching a show called Gentle Ben about 30-40 yrs ago. Boomhower had a truck like this that he drove around when he wasn't driving his airboat.

Re: My new \"Tak-Tak\"

If y'all come to Texas, you'll easily recognize the people I was referring to, as they'll likely open the conversation with:
"Y'all ain't from 'round 'ere, are ya son?"

Nope, wasn't talking about the hispanic folks... but since y'all brought 'em up... Tex-Mex cooking.... Yum!

Re: My new \"Tak-Tak\"

First of all, this tak-tak is a trailer first because it can also be pulled by a tractor and then a vehicle if you add an engine onto its front frame. That is, you add the engine yourself and this is a very easy work because all connectors for mounting are sent. So, when trading this item the item description on the invoice will be "trailer" as there is no engine on it and therefore, its transaction will be very easy. Items with the engines, especially with the internal combustion engines are difficult to be traded internationally - because major big companies are exposing the rules on the government laws all over the world, hence we see "green" engine, etc. By the way, what is "green" engine? It is basically an engine exhausting an amount of carbonmoboxide CO under a certain limit. If Lombardini engine wasn't a green engine, then it wouldn't be allowed to be produced. Anyway, this gearboxed trailer is, as many already see, very useful and many folks in our town are using it everywhere (except in the town centers). Now, I am thinking to make it more comfortable like a car. I am thinking to replace its universal tractor seat with an air ride tractor seat. Where can I buy a universal air ride tractor seat? Who can sell me one simple such seat?

Re: My new \"Tak-Tak\"

How does the engine connect to the transmission?

I am making an assumption here but I am guessing that the connection between the engine and transmission would have to be belt or chain. That would allow any type of engine to be quickly adapted.

Re: My new \"Tak-Tak\"

Forget about the cup holder and the A/C, can you get that bed to dump?
(On second thought keep the cup holder.)
Nomad, the first thing I thought of was a magic carpet ride with all the fancy paintings.
I like it. It would be perfect for hay rides, or riding in parades, or trail rides. (Way too pretty to use on the farm.)

By the way, Texans do not drawwwwlww their words, yankees just talk too darn fast, and the debate whether Spanish or English is the first language of Texas is ongoing.

Re: My new \"Tak-Tak\"

Nomad, any idea what it would cost to get one of those here in the USA? What would the cost of the Tak-Tak be? What would shipping be? I think there might be a niche market for those things!!!

This was what CCI was supposed to have said.

Re: My new \"Tak-Tak\"

Yes, Ozarker, it is belt-pulley transmission system and any type of engine (1-cyl.) can be easily adapted.
