Bird never took any of it the wrong way...:) besides it not like I had a say in the matter...Mrs Tractor said I LIKE THAT ONE!

And of coarse as the men that we are when our wifes say something we are just better agreeing.!:D

Bird; I have never seen someone fulltiming it have their own picnic table:)

:DYou're right. That picture was made last Spring when he was on his way north. The owner of the RV park where he spends the winter mentioned last winter than he'd thought about buying some picnic tables, but they were just too expensive. So my brother bought the material and built that one for practice, then told the guy what he'd charge, per table, for labor and materials to build them, if the guy wanted them for the park. They never did reach an agreement, so he was taking that one to his son's place in Washington state. He also has that truck loaded with a smoker that he bought and was taking up there. And he had quite a load of mesquite and pecan wood to use for smoking meats, since he couldn't those two woods up there.

You're going to love the truck. I've had mine for a year and it's the best one I've ever owned. Just wait until you hook up a trailer and see how it handles it. The F-450 is a premier towing machine. They will definately tow a load. What my F-450 can't handle my '59 White can.

When the F-450 pickup first came out they offered the 4.88 axle ratio in the heavy towing package (33,000# GVWR). The 4.30 was rated (I think) for 29,000#GVWR. They later stopped offering the 4.88 and re-rated the 4.30 to 33,000#. The 6.4 doesn't need the 4.88's and the 4.30 ratio helps the mileage by keeping the engine revs down.

Disregarding all other brand issues, reliability etc. etc. IMO I think the Ford style/looks are much better than the GM or even Dodge (which I own).
Nice Truck!
JB.

Yea, Builder, he certainly took quite a step, GM>Ford.

Bet you can't wait to do that!;):D:)

I believe GM has a better truck either way.

Well Rick the resident experts (builder and the 13 year boy) signed off so I guess you can get it. I can't believe after having the best truck and engine in the universe you would take a huge step backwards lol. Anyways that's a great looking truck and you'll love it. Do you have a class a cdl? I was planning on getting the 450 but with the gvw or that rig and my trailer I'd be over 26k.

whitehunter,
I guess the old saying is "turn the other cheek".
I just don't think I want that one slapped, too.:D Doesn't quite fit the holiday mood.

Rick,

Good luck with the new truck. My 450 was a good truck, just too small. Needed to go bigger.

BTW: Thanks for getting me the parts. The MT285 is starting to come together. Whew, those Challenger parts are starting to add up!!! ;)

Have a great Thanksgiving. :)

Yea, Ford's a great truck, but we have our beliefs, you have yours. We could get into an argument of brands, but happens to often, so, let's just live our own lives and have a Happy Thanksgiving.

:D I gotta laugh because of my dad. You see, my dad and his dad only bought GM products no matter what. Even back in the dark days for them, my dad had a 1974 Chevy pickup that sat in a climate controlled carpeted garage and the rear bedsides rusted off of it is less than a year. Still, what did he do? He traded it for a 1976 that promptly did the same thing. Oh, I remember the verbal jousting with his friends who drove a, hold your ears son, (what I would hear) a Ford. He'd say that he'd take his truck out with the rust and all to haul their F(ound) O(n) R(oad) D(ead) home for them anytime since at least his truck had a decent powertrain. :D

I'm the black sheep. I have Fords, Chevrolets, Dodges, and even Hondas (even though one is technically an Acura, I still call it a Honda). My dad may or may not ride in my Ford pickup. I think I'll try him out for Thanksgiving and ask him to ride with me to go pick up some more soda and see if he'll get in a Ford. I'm not sure he will.... :D

Drive 'em till the wheels fall off of em! Happy Thanksgiving to all!! :)
