My new transfer tank set up

Ha, ha - - Doofy. I remember going to the little cabin at the DOT in "down town" Glennallen and filling our jugs with fresh water. Putting them in our little rental cabin so they wouldn't freeze solid. What a life.

One of these days, when I get a round tuit I'm going to have to do something about fueling the tractor. Full 5 gallon Jerry cans are becoming a little much.

I could maybe use a gravity to fuel the zero turn but the tank on the tractor is way to high I would have to put it up on the loaded to make it work.

You could probably do this with 5 gallon Jerry cans

oosik, DOT closed down that well around 1990 because it was costing to much to maintain. The water stunk and was loaded with methane. I burned off my eyebrows several times when thawing the barrel bung with a propane torch. Priceless times.

Looking at some of these options, don't you run into an issue with dispensing fuel into a non-DOT approved container?

Brilliant!!!! I'm not yet to the point of 5 gal. cans being too much to handle but the day will come and I am going to use this method........if I can remember it!!

Newbury, is this your setup? Is there a way to shut the gravity flow off at the tank if you need to while the container is up in the bucket? Can't tell from the pic if that's a shutoff nozzle on the hose. I ask because I'm perfectly capable of overflowing my tanks even when I only have the 5-gal fuel can in my hands!

]After decades of using a drum, and finally puncturing it one day, I decided to grow up and invest in a different set up. Sure glad I did. I do have forks, and it sure beats wrestling the drum in and out of a pickup and front end loader.

Well I scored a new tank ! no more barrels. 50 gal Day tank free !

I just need to clean it out and weld in a bung for the pick up tube and enjoy !
