Thanks, guys. We are pretty excited, as there are some very cool new features that we did not have with the old truck. (The "old" one was a 2014, on a 2-year lease.) Two new options we got this time are the rear tailgate step and the rear sliding window (so we can carry long dimension lumber the short distance from the TimbrMart to the cottage on occasion), but this one also happened to have Navigation, a 3.55 locking rear axle, and very pretty 20' wheels.
A rather pleasant surprise was a bunch of new goodies that they added to the XLT "302A" package for 2016, like heated front power driver and passenger seats, power pedals, "Sync 3" (since the old Sync had some problems), TPM that shows the actual pressure of each wheel(!), 110 volt outlets, and a very cool trailer backup assist feature where the truck steers itself. There is also an improved cargo tie-down hook system whereby you have 8 points instead of 4, and they have also added an LED box light so you can see inside when the tonneau cover is on (a big plus for us).
We still stuck with the 5.0 litre V8, however, mainly because that was what came with this truck. I would have taken the 3.5 Ecoboost if they had one, but none of their in-stock trucks had an Ecoboost with these particular goodies and in the white colour. No problem. The 5.0 has plenty enough power. All in all, we are pretty happy with the truck (despite the increased price which I don't want to think about).
Another nice thing is that the 20" wheels still have the same outside tire diameter as my old 2010 rims with Winter tires, so I can still use them when it comes time for the Fall switchover in preparation for the winter.
