Good for y'all! Do you have undercoat/oil places that will guarantee no rust if you do a yearly touch up with them?

Yes,I am headed down to versailles Ohio first week of april to get Krown rusting proofing done.Planning on keeping the old girl a long time and living in the rust belt I hope the rust proofing will keep rust to a minimum.

Ya I never understood how bad it was till I moved up North.
When I lived in the Southern half of the USA I generally bought and valued used vehicles based on mileage not year. Up here it's the other way around!

My truck must have been a northern truck. Rust usually isn't a big deal here. It's not unusual to see 1980s vehicles still in service. My truck is a 2000 and is severely rusted.

Yup the rust in NC was NOTHING like what you see up here. At 6-8 yrs some vehicles need frame repair.

The wife and I were **** bent on buying a new 2016 F150 lariat super crew cab with the 5.0 engine.After comparing $$ and trucks we got more value and truck going with the Dodge 2500.

A good friend of mine bought a nice camper and half ton Chevy to pull it, a year later he had to trade trucks; cheaper to get what you need the first time.

The wife and I were **** bent on buying a new 2016 F150 lariat super crew cab with the 5.0 engine.After comparing $$ and trucks we got more value and truck going with the Dodge 2500.

Pulled a 7x14 enclosed with a couple motorcycles in it with a 2013 F150 Supercab STX/5.0 for about a 2400 mile round trip. Be glad that you didn't buy one. I traded mine on an F250/6.2 as soon as I got home from that trip.
I've been a Ford guy forever. But gotta admit that I really like the looks of the RAM 2500's. Lately I've heard it said that you can buy a similarly optioned F250 for the same or even less money than a F150. Apparently due to the fact that the 150 is so popular Ford doesn't have to discount as much to sell them. To me, the 150 is giving you less truck for the same or more money.

I tow a 7x14 enclosed motorcycle trailer for my show cars...

The 91 bone stock Silverado with 5.7 half ton tows it no problem... mountains or highway.

Have heard the new trucks are always hunting for a gear.

My brother's plan was to go F150 and was almost to pull the trigger and a friend said to use his to try out pulling the horse trailer and dump trailer... we ended up going Super Duty Diesel... 440 hp... so far so good.
