My New Wolo Light

Thank you.

Your light is actually a little brighter than mine in the daytime.

On the rops is where mine is also, but I cut the plug off and wired it into the extra hot wire that is down by the 3pt. I think you have that wire on your Bota also.

I did not find the light blinding me a problem, but it is better on the ROPS...that is until I forget about it and try to pull into the garage...;)
I will probably put it on the ROPS if I'm using it for extended periods...
Put it on the bottom of the ROPS. It will stay surprisingly well.
If it doesn't, put something like this on the top and run a cable tie through it.

I don't quite see how that would work...

The anchor sticks to the top of the light, the light goes upside down on the underside of the ROPS and you run a zip tie over the top of the rops, through the anchor which is now on the 'bottom' of the light (the anchor prevents the zip tie from sliding off of the round light) and back onto itself.
Then the light is anchored to the underside of the ROPS with both the magnet and a zip tie.

The one I have is round and taller than around. It has a black plastic base and amber screw on lense. It has a single strobe tube inside, the tube is about 1.5 inches long and operating voltage is 25-80 VDC.

It's very bright, day or night. It's basically the same style as used on Hi-lo's in plants.

I believe they were 25 bucks each on Wolo's website last year.

I like the strobe because, it has no moving parts and it's extremely low current drain, in milliamps plus the circuitry is potted in the base so it's waterproof.

Actually, I'll probably keep it mounted to the top of the carryall or the hood...

I bought the same light at Advanced Auto Parts last year for $19.99
I works really well I put it on my plow truck and I plan on getting another one for the tractor to replace an old one that broke.
Also thinking about putting a LED bulb in them from this web site:LED Lights & Accessories - SUPER BRIGHT LEDS

I've knocked mine off several times with low branches, but I have wire ties on the cord hold it to the rops, so the light couldn't contact anything when it fell.

It has hit me in the back several times though :laughing:

That sucks. Does Wolo offer replacement parts? No doubt a new done will be as much or more than a new light.

That's why I think a cradle bracket mounted to the ROPS would allow the light to be up high where it's highly visible, yet somewhat protected.

What I did was order another amber light and get a pack of replacement domes. The pack of domes for $8 has a red and a blue one (not sure why there is not an amber )...So, I'll have a amber light and a red/blue light...

Not that it's a big deal, but I believe red and blue are reserved to government emergency vehicles per PA state law.

Actually, it is a big deal.

Firemen use blue lights(on personal vehicles). Police use red. Ambulances use red.

Don't ever get caught with a red flashing light on your vehicle in Pa. unless you have a badge.

And blue is skeptical also unless you are a fireman and responding to a fire (gonna be hard to explain a tractor responding to a fire call though).

You do bring up valid points!!
I just figured he wouldn't get ticketed (especially with the blue light), but it would be possible, I reckon.

BTW, CTF...did you buy that warning beacon to scare the geese away?

Seriously, what did you plug it into? Does the Kubota have a cigaret lighter or 12 volt outlet?

/ My New Wolo Light #38
roy, yup it has a cig plug under the seat near floor board on the BX's as standard feature. CTF can use the direct wire connection in back of BX above pto shaft from wire loom if he wanted to for rops lights and amber flasher.

The State Police are cracking down on everything around here, especially ATV's, they are writing tickets for even crossing a township road. They have literally run several ATV's off the road to make them stop.

True, but they can also be used by volunteer firefighters (blue) and volunteer fire officers (red).
