My NX6010

Hi Eric,
I have ordered 45w LEDs for my NX4510. I believe they will be a perfect fit for replacement. What is the wattage on yours and did you need to upgrade your fuse etc. as I believe the current light is 23w. Thanks
Kevin

I'm interested in this as well. Kevin, I gather you have a cab. Is there a link you can post or PM me for what you ordered? I haven't gone back to confirm, but I think Eric may have had to pad out the mounting brackets with washers to get clearance for the aftermarket lights he used.

I think the OEM work lights on the NX are o.k. for moderate work after dark, and they are probably great for a 20-something operator. But brighter would be better. A buddy who's an ophthalmologist told me once that by the time we reach 40-45, our eyes need twice the light to see with the same acuity we had when we were 20. Then, he added, it's all downhill from there.

Eric, thanks for posting your experience with the fuel tank issue. I'm hoping you find today that the HDPE welding and the J-B Weld did the trick. As I think was mentioned earlier in the thread, it seems most of the tractor manufacturers have moved the fuel tanks on their newer CUTs down to frame level. Makes refueling a lot easier, IMO, but they're also more vulnerable.

You've had a few setbacks, but I figure that what you're saving by doing all that clearing for your real estate project yourself is paying for that tractor pretty quickly.

Hey Threepoint,
haha You are right on the age & eyes thing for sure. Yes I have the cab and the new ones measure up perfectly to fit the existing brackets. I just ordered from that new Alibaba site from China (that just made their debut on the stock market last week) at $31.50 a piece and ordered 5, 4 for front and back and a spare. Shipping was $84 but still worth it to me. Might be cheaper shipping for you where you're located. Here is the link :

Thanks, Kevin. There was a hiccup with that link, as you noted in your PM. For the benefit of other members, it works at: 302 Found
These lights look good. Let us know how they work out when they arrive, and I'll likely order a set.

Edit: Whoops, no, the link I just posted no longer works either when trying to redirect from TBN. It just goes to the Alibaba main site.
But, if you search in their search bar for 45W-LED-Work-Light-Lamp-Offroad,
it brings up a selection of participant vendors and shows the lights in question. There, they can be ordered for $44.69 each, but with free shipping. Works at to being pretty close to Kevin's price.

Will do but still hoping Eric will get back to me on whether the current fuse/switches will be accommodating to the wattage of the new lights.

Gentlemen,

The pair of 18w china led lights I added to the sides of my cab and wired in my own power, switch and ground work great. However, the four 36w cheap, China led lights I added using the factory wiring work great but when they are on, they create radio interferance to the point that the radio is useless.

At any-rate, the factory light harness can handle the lower amperage draw of china LED lights.

Thanks Eric, for the heads up on the noise issue, gives me a challenge on trying to filter that or maybe rerouting the power source for the radio. I'm enjoying the updates on your project upgrades. Good luck.

How did the fuel tank repair work out? Looks like you done a good bit of clearing.

Eric, uh oh, thanks for the heads up. I just did a little Web research and learned that 12v LED light interference with FM and VHF radio reception can be a big problem with imported lights that aren't FCC compliant. It's important to me, as my cab radio has both FM and VHF reception (the latter for the NOAA Weather Radio broadcasts).

Here are some links. Hopefully they'll work despite whatever TBN automatically does to compress the hyperlink addresses. There might be a solution for you: Installation of some ferrite-core RF chokes (also called "ferrite beads"), available at Radio Shack, etc. I don't know how the wiring for the OEM work lights is routed in the NX series. May have to pop the cab roof to find a place for the chokes to snap on. They're supposed to be near the fixture. I know only enough about radio electronics to be dangerous to myself and others, so good luck with this.
