My neighbor has horses and they don't get good hay, so the horses eat tree bark. She has more dead trees than you can shake a stick at.

Over the years, I have reached over the fence with the CAT and pushed the close up trees, over. This area drains into my pond and is a wet weather swamp. So with all the trees down, nothing drained. I didn't like it and got her permission to go in there when it was dry enough to clean it up.
A huge Red oak, that I left, is dead and still has it limb canopy. I didn't even want to saw it and help it fall over. I'll let nature do that. You can see what her horses have done here.
A week ago Thursday, I started pushing trees with the Mahindra and cutting it all up to burn. Burning all day and night into Friday. Late Friday, I hit a unseen small stump with the grapple. The left latch popped open and the 6 foot grapple went down and dropping the front on that side, twisting my loader's right SS carrier plate about 4 inches. I managed to get the grapple hooked on the top of the plates and limped home.

I posted about it and the repair here, starting in post 17.

Rain was forecast for today, so I wanted to finish the cleanup and remove two stumps so I could rework it to drain better, so I went back at it yesterday afternoon. My main goal was drainage and the stumps were in the way. The CAT made short work of the stumps and the Mahindra had it somewhat leveled by the end of the day. I will have to get photos today, as I forgot yesterday. Guess I forgot photos because it was 102 yesterday. Oh yeah..did I mention it was HOT in the CAT?
