FWIW: I have the ingersoll sls-3l and it has worked well for me for 15+ years. It just runs and runs. I use the air mostly for blowing out the oil coolers on for Deutz and PT hydraulics, and some impact tools and a fair amount of die grinder usage. I also use it for plasma cutting, with some secondary filtration, but I do not know that I can tell the difference of the added filtration. After five years or so, I put in an intercooler made from a power steering radiator, and a 12V AC fan, a 12V power supply and an auto drain coalescing filter that pulls off 95+% of the water. I no longer have visible water from the tank drain, and only the occasional few drops out of my main coalescing filter placed before the air goes into the piping.Ok, quick update. New tires mounted, got a new battery. Currently working on bucket repair . Have to get a new air comp so I can paint. More to come!
All the best,
Peter
