You seem to have a problem with my opinions , Oh well , I'm sure we are from different generations or you would understand my gruff matter of fact posting style .To each his own ,But I have NEVER left a piece of equipment stuck anywhere I would stay with it until it was home or totaled beyond repair and that has never happened , I just can't wait to see the pictures of the 12 ft deep tractor swallowing sink hole . I'm happy for him that it all worked out and it's home safe and sound .

Problem no, you amuse me. Thanks for posting

Hello All,

I wasn't going to post anymore about this, however it was brought to my attention that doing so might be inconsiderate.

A friend and I did get it out today. I'll post the pictures along with the rest of the story tomorrow.

Hurrah!!!! I hope it was easier than it looked. Is there a U tube video?

I'm cautiously happy for you DT.. I hope it all came out intact.

Glad you got it out and looking forward to some photos. My advice would have been to use explosives, not because that is practical but because it would have made the news and made some great photos.

He wouldn't need any of that Coobie. He would live off the land.

My advice would have been to use explosives,

Any problem on Earth can be solved with the careful application of high explosives.

Quoted from Gumpyoldman: "...I have NEVER left a piece of equipment stuck anywhere I would stay with it until it was home or totaled beyond repair and that has never happened..."

So if there were no cell service and no sat phone within reach you would hunker down and go without food or water to keep your tractor company while you singlehandedly figured out how to rescue it by yourself or used your 'C-4' filled backpack to blow it to smithereenes?!:confused2::eek:

Is this your matter-of-fact solution to all things tractor related? your way or the highway, Sarge?:D

The OP is lucky he didn't walk the property in advance, in this situation, and his method of using his equipment to explore for 'land mines' in this case did do some damage to his equipment, BUT the result is he got to walk away safely. Not a stupid outcome by any means, and he is none the worse of from it, either. Your achtung approach to the same situation would have likely rendered you in the bottom of the ditch/sinkhole with broken bones or dead, which is one step up from grumpy, BTW.

CM out

It sounds to me like the OP knew what he was doing the entire time, he was just sharing his story more than anything.
