My wife calls TBN my support group for more than great tractor information. Yes, I am secretly utilizing this board for support for a reason other than Muhammad intended, and it is working! This is my support group for the soon to be famous "Implement Diet".

There are no special foods involved only three diet factors to keep track of each day. They are #1 Controlled portions at regular meals, #2 Minimal snacking, and #3 Exercise (30 minutes - increase metabolism so you sweat). Each day we honestly report to each other and my wife marks it on the chart. Each Sunday morning is weigh in time. Our goal is to lose a half pound a week. The ultimate goal is to lose 10 pounds in 20 weeks.
The reward is a new tractor implement for each 10 pounds I lose. So far I have lost six pounds and am on schedule for a new implement with the wife’s blessing’s and feeling great. Life is good! Thanks for your support! (This is not one of those FAD implement schemes).

My wife just walked by and got a kick out of this! Don't think it would work for me though. A new implement for every 10 lbs I lost would bankrupt us if the plan worked. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

What the wife didn't tell you is that the new implement is going to be something like a vacuum cleaner to keep the house clean... or a shovel to dig dirt with. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

You have my support for your novel idea, but am I missing something here....? What does your wife get if she meets her goal /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif. It seems only fair to me that if you get to buy a new implement for meeting your goal she also deserves a reward.

Just be careful. My wife made me a deal. Lose 50 lbs and you can get a Harley!! Ok, when I lost the fifty pounds then it was, well you have to keep it off a while, ok I now am a 70 lbs that I lost and where is my Harley. She said go ahead, here is the check book, go get one but tell me where the money is for it.?? So you see, I still don't have my Harley.

Well actually we do have the money, it is in savings but seriously I just don't have the time. With all of my other hobbies I just wouldn't have time. Maybe when the kids are gone then I would have time. In another 5 years they will all out of the house and I can get rid of some of the stuff and get the Harley maybe.

Murph,

Good luck with that idea! We found that even as busy as we were when the kids were home, we became even MORE busy once they were gone. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

The only difference is that we're involved in pretty much all grown-up stuff. (I was going to say adult stuff, but I know how most of you guys think! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) And when we are involved in "youth" activities, it's our nephews and nieces so we can participate and then go home and leave eveything to their Mom and Dad! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Good luck on your plan. Hope it works out for you. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I turned 52 last August and was drooling over the 100 year editions of the Sportster, and jokingly asked my spouse if I could buy one. She said okay but it has to be one I can ride with you on....

My last motorcycle was a mid size Honda back in 1980, while I rode that one my dream bike was ALWAYS a Harley, I liked to squint my eyes and pretend I was on a Sportster. Now I am old enough to be a responsible rider and can actually afford to buy the new cycle I wanted 24 years ago.

And the sad thing is, I don't really WANT one that much now, life isn't fair. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Just beware of wifey's intended consequence should you gain the ten lbs back /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Wow what a deal. I've lost 30lbs since November by cutting out snacks and decreased portion size. I have about 100lbs to go over the next two years. So far the only thing my wife has promised is to buy me new clothes when the current supply no longer fits. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
