Re: My wife says I\'m buying too much tractor HELP?
SteveM,
Almost sounds like you should have started a new thread! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif And maybe titled it
"I'm goin' fishing! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I think many want to err on the side of doing it once and perhaps avoiding the cost of doing it twice, so we may end up with a little more tractor than necessary. Once you decide to buy a "real tractor" the incremental cost of going a size larger [or two] often is not that much extra, especially if you spread it over a number of years [or a couple decades...]
The 'tool factor" does come into play too. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif We all have our tools...be it golf clubs and golf memberships, a gun safe full of thousands of dollars of equipment, whatever we feel the need for, for purposes of stress relief, enjoyment, and so on...all it takes is some money.
A cheap little Chevy or Ford will get you there the same as a large, expensive vehicle...I have driven both...almost...never really got to the expensive end of the spectrum. Not a whole lot different than the big/little tractor issue.
It seems like most buy something that will work for them, even if a little bigger than absolutely necessary. And mostly seem pretty happy with their choice.
In the end, the answer to your question probably is that people do what they feel like doing with their tractors, when they feel like doing it.
And have fun doing it. Frankly, I often wonder why people spend thousands of dollars per year for season tickets for seats in sports stadiums!
In the end, it's only money...we trade if for what we need or what makes us feel good.
That may be the real answer to your question...
people use their expensive tractors to get something done and feel good about it!
Guess I'll pull out that hook now...
