My wife torments me

Use the same trick I used to get my tractor. Badger badger badger and if that doesnt work run away and pout like a 3 yo. Hey it works for my son but then again he is only 3.

/ My wife torments me #42
look just man up and ask yourself if you really need a mini ex . if you really do and can really afford it after taking care of all the other obligations around the house then buy it . sounds like you need the tractor and just wont the mini . if that be the case and your not rich then listen to your wife . if you are rich it dont matter anyway buy it . ive found after i finally started making responcible desicions with the house hold money my wife really didnt care what i did because she trusted me to do the right thing. most women had rather not be involved in the money if they dont have to be. i will say that part of being a man is not asking permission . i have never understood these men who ask there wife if its ok to take a **** .

me being only 16 i have no expreance with a wife but i do always tell my dates if you cant put up with waking up at 3 am to hear a twin turbo cummins fire up or my stunt bike pegged off the rev limiter or my hammering on something then beat it! no wonder im single:D:D

NBstunter, please don't lose your attitude, it is what makes women attracted to you in the first place. Begging, sniveling and whining to your gf or eventual wife will cause her to lose respect for you so fast it will make your head spin. Being married is not like dating for sure but don't ever end up being some woman's *****.....

No disrespect to anyone in this thread but guys, please "man up" a little and stop acting like like little boys who have to beg mommy for a cookie! My wife can have pretty much anything she wants and when she asks me what I think about a new Coach purse or some other female trinket, I tell her I'm not her daddy and if we have the $$$ and the bills are paid she doesn't need my permission. She respects me and I respect her, simple as that.....

dano said it better than i did.

I have to agree with Dano in so far as doing whatever you want with your money after the bills are paid. My wife and I both work and split the bills somewhat evenly. As long as the bills are paid, there are usually no objections to what the other does with their money (as long as it doesn't involve another pet). BUT a purchase as large as a new tractor should at least be discussed/mentioned. That way she has warning and doesn't faint dead away when the flat-bed shows up with your new baby, and you end up with bacon grease in your hair from that frying pan.

Wait a minute am I on a tractor forum or a marriage counseling forum? Geez, I gotta log off before I become too preachy. Oops...too late.

Man, ain't it all the truth......

Years ago I mentioned to the wife it'd be nice to have a dozer to play with....this was meant with the typical icy stare that had my obvious answer.
When I came up for retirement from the military 3 years ago, we were "discussing" where to end up to.....I was opting for the property we bought in WA state (man I love it there) and she's quite the family gal from Ohio.
Soooo......after I bought the property in Ohio, the addendum was I needed some equipment to clear out the homesite, dig the ponds, basement, etc. She was so happy about the land she essentially gave me card blanche. Got the 2 yellow toys below and what a blast!!! Errr, I mean very tough work every day I'm there clearing our land for our home, dear.
So, the toys I wanted only cost me a few hundred thousand!!

Part 2; I buy and sell equipment as a hobby at some different auctions, and 1 auction several months back I saw my dream bike which I figured I wouldn't seriously approach for several more years, since the past few casual mentions have met with said icy stare and a no fu___in way as a kicker.
So after a few drinks and sitting down at the computer for some bidding, I said why not throw in a low low bid on the Harley and I could always use the guise of re-selling it ala equipment....so of course my bid won by 100 bucks. Now unfortunately I was working overseas at the time of alcoholic bidding and had the unpleasant task of requesting comhomfro (commander, home front) to send a check for several thousand $$$ to the auction house...wow too bad the connection was pretty bad that day on Skype right after I passed the request.
However, God bless her, I just got a motorcycle cover for Christmas with a wink that means I might actually be in the clear.....!

My wife was very angry with me for buying the new tractor. And that was after years of me waiting and saving up and what I thought were many reasonable conversations including agreement. Boy was I wrong.

All that said, I would never get the darned thing if I waited till she was completely comfortable. She just does not see the value as I do. So, a year later, I'm out of the doghouse.

That said, I think the mini would be hard to justify. Good luck!

kubotafan,

happily married for 13 years . did you miss the part where i said making responcible desicions with the money ?? its one thing to buy something on a whim its another to buy it after careful consideration has determined that we actually need it . marriage is a partnership an EQUAL PARTNERSHIP. im sorry if you have to get permission to **** must make it hard whenever yall are apart.

CBW1999,
Years ago, when SWMBO & I bought our house, it came with a POS WH 12HP garden tractor. It lasted 2 months after settlement then the deck disintegrated. $$ was tight so I found another, then another, & another. Got PO'd after the 5th one & told SWMBO I was buying another machine, but NEW. She sadi "OK, but not too much." I worked a deal on a new BX22, FEL, BH, & 54" MMM in mid 2002. T'was more than SWMBO had anticipated ($9200, Sticker was $17500) & the Ice Age came for 3 months. After 3 months we got 30" of snow in a weekend. She got her mommy van stuck sideways in the driveway where she had had me spread 6"-8" of PEA GRAVEL. (I told her to get Crush-N-Run. The Pea gravel was "more attractive than that ugly gravel") My BX22 made a parking place & pulled her out in about 10 minutes. She brought me out a thermos of coffee & hasn't griped about it since. Life is good.
In short, if you really NEED it, & can justify it, ASK then go get it.
T-Man.
BTW SWMBO & I have been together for 27 Yrs.
