The only HD 85" bucket I see that can be ordered with the H260 loader is the one that comes with the grapple attachment brackets. I don't want that since I got a separate grapple. Would like to see a picture of one to determine what those brackets look like.

So I was able to loosed the 3 bolts that hold the joystick bracket. Once I realized the bolts when through the fender and the nuts could be accessed from the wheel wells, it went pretty quick.

I was then able to remove the cover panel, but alas, there is no power connector to tab into. These are the only 2 connectors there (yellow arrows):

Closeup on the one that runs up to the joystick handle via the grey wire. It is pretty clear that the 3 conductor plug is for the 3rd function, and the 2 conductor one is for the front switch (presumably for disconnecting a front global carrier attachment with the optional solenoid).

And here's the joystick handle showing the 3rd function switch and front switch not currently being used.

So I went to plan B, and used the additional open station harness that connect to the main harness and utilized a power source on the inside left fender. I also picked up ground here as well (12V and ground wires shown with yellow arrows).

Here's a page from the install manual showing the main harness.

And a poor picture showing the tractor power supply plug that is supposed to be down by the shift lever.

I then tried to get the horn button connected. Here's the diagram the dealer sent me.

hornwire-4.jpg

So basically, I need to locate the 2 space lugs shown in the lower left corner.

I did locate the orange wire 903 on connector X141.

And here is the cable bundle continuing out the other side.

But it continues up into the steering wheel "pod", which contains the PowrReverser lever and turn signal stalk.

Perhaps they made a change for 2012 and the horn button should now be mounted up there instead of in the center cowl?

Brackets for grapple are four tabs (per side) with one hole for a cross bolt in each tab. Two tabs top, two tabs bottom per side. Look in JD parts and they show a back view of the bucket. Picture is front view and only shows top tabs.

I think you found connector X211, not X141

I think you're right. X211 is a 10 conductor connector which is what I show the picture off. And it would make sense that S05, S07 and S12 are the stalks on the steering wheel column. Let me get back out there and see if I can follow the 903 wire to X141 and then X104.

Btw, thanks for the pic of the 85" bucket. Will discuss with dealer.

I traced orange 903 from X211 to X141. From X141 it goes into the main harness that goes under the floor mat to the left rear fender. So the diagram the dealer sent me must be for the pre 2012 5085M. I even went so far as to take out the instrument panel completely and there is just no X104 with a pair of spade lug pig tails to be found anywhere in the center console.

I bet the dealer looked up the schematic in this technical manual:

And he should have looked it up in this manual:

I'm thinking about picking up this diagnostic manual. I'm sure it will come in handy over the years. I typically always get these for my vehicles as I service them myself after the warranty period expires.

Anyway, I buttoned everything back up and reconnected the battery. All the other newly installed electrical options now work. Accumulator solenoid, right fender EH control and brake lights.

Looks like its coming along real well! I'm still waiting for my weights, beacon and stabilizer bars, for now I cant use the 3 point hitch all my implements will sway. Real bad if I had the plow or tiller on. Might hit a few cars. :confused2: I think its been about 2 weeks for this slow dealer to get my stuff in. They preordered it about 2 weeks before. The 6430 Premium is my favorite tractor to pull the disk now. It makes a nice flat even surface cause the tires don't sink in as much as the other two 6000's.

Dealer sent me updated wiring schematics and it did indeed change for MY2012.

Here's the new horn wiring schematic. I don't even see where the horn switch is in this diagram.

And here's a physical illustration of the 2012 center console. No spade lugs to be found anywhere and not clear where the horn button would hook up.

Who would have thought it would be this difficult to hook up a darn horn button.

Dealer just called me and suggested that since the MY2012 M series now have a little stalk for the turn signal and high/low beam, it might be that by pushing it forward past the low beam setting, that will engage the horn. That is how the 6000 series work. Will try that tonight. I'm sure glad I didn't already drill a hole for the horn button if that is indeed the case.
