I keep a few #12 sht. metal screws in the backhoe for on the job nail hole repair if it a fast leak if slow I drive home and stick a plug in it. Took me a while to find tools heavy enough to ream out and install plugs in 12 ply back tires but they last as long as the tire.

I've used a battery drill to ream the hole for the plug.

I've used a battery drill to ream the hole for the plug.

Normally, that is exactly what I do: use a drill to hog out the holes in load-rated truck tires. Passenger tires are so wimpy, I've never needed to use anything other than a hole hogger.

At this point I'm building up my ignore list because asking how guys who fix equipment tires for a living fix a nail hole is too much to ask.

People needn't be a pro to know what the correct procedure is or to be able to point to an expert (an appeal to authority).

For example: this is an appeal to authority:

What happens if I get a puncture?
Most minor punctures in tubeless tires can be fixed by plugging the hole just like a car tire. First, rotate the hole to the top and remove the object that caused the puncture. Next, follow the instructions on the plug kit. Do not continue to operate the tractor on a soft tire. You will risk breaking the bead away from the rim and losing all of the Rim Guardョ.

Sounds as though I can simply plug the thing like a car or truck tire, a thing i did not know because I'm an auto tech, not a heavy equipment tech.

The point is you initially didn't ask for professional help. You stood on a street corner and shouted "what's the procedure?" Then got nasty with folks that offered to help. You probably owe the community an apology.
