Jim - Do those software programs also provide for printing of the landscape pictures? Or is there another easy way to do that if they don't?

Most every program I've seen allows printing. As a matter of fact, I've never seen one that doesn't. Of course, if the image is larger than one page, you get into having to cut and paste to put it together (called tiling on most graphics programs). I guess if you had a printer with continuous feed paper like some printer/plotters, you could just print one huge image. Those machines are normally pretty darn expensive and the rolled photo paper is too. I draw and use actual sized illustrations of aircraft cockpits, and to get them printed, mounted, and framed for my classrooms is around $1,500 for three panels @ 66" x 40" each. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

speaking of wide angle digitals
I take lots of "for the record" landscape and interior room shots (Landscape contractor and architect)
I wish I could find an average quality digital camera
(I dont need mega mega pixels as I only review them on the computer) that goes down into the 28mm or less range.
It seems like they all go in the 35 - 105 range .
Also something without a long shutter lag.
I should probably start a different thread - just thinking out loud....

I don't think the 28mm range is going to come very cheap. Also, the camera that can do that is going to have lots of mega-pixels. Here's an example at near $1000.

I think if I could live with 35mm, I'd run out and get one of these Minoltas. It even comes with a hot shoe for an external flash.

Jim - Thanks. Actually I should have looked before I asked. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif My HP PhotoPrint software is already set up to print panaramic pictures. Up to 4" x 10". I knew it would print all sorts of sizes. Just never noticed the panarama option before.

Wow, beautiful shot! I haven't tried, but my Canon software has some kind of stitch or something feature that I haven't used. In fact, I seldom every even use the software at all. I just email the pics just like they were taken. Windows XP shrinks them to a good size automatically.

Alan, I'd bet you could take some great panoramic shots of your tank/pond. You could easily use the water's edge as a reference point for stitching the photos together. ...just a thought. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Check out the Canon S70 and its first cousin, the S60. They both start at 28mm and can be found for less than $500.

hmmm that looks like a possibility - had'nt seen that one before. I will have to check the lag times, best price an dhow it "feels" I am a little put off by canon's complicated (to me /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif) interface but I'm trainable.
