Take a look at TOTO toilets. They work exellent! We have 3 of them in my new house on the advice of our plumber.

I did some google searching when he recomened them because I had never heard of them before, read alot of great reviews on them.

I'll second that! My farmhouse came with a handicap toilet and I had to put one in my business. Very easy on and off. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Have you considered making a run over to Fort Erie? You can still get 3 gallon toilets in Canada.

Frank,

We put two Eljiers in the new house. They don't clog up far less than the old 1975 toilets we had at the old place. I like them as far as this is concerned. I would try to get taller toilets though. It has not been a problem for us and with two small kids we likely bought the right toilets.

Oh yeah. The toilets don't come with lids. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif We bought a "regular" one for us and one with painted dinosaurs for the kids. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif They had some with fishes. Very nice but too much money. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

We got ours at Home Depot. They where not the most expensive nor the cheapest. They where round compared to the eliptical bowls.

Later,
Dan

KURT; thanks for that information i am glad someone that actually has that model answered, because that is the toilet i was lwaning to after viewing the specs on KOHLERS web site, HD handels kohler, but don't think it is a stock item, will have to check LOWES ( a bit farther to go but not unreasonable.

I will third that on the high handicapped toilet. All toilets should be this way /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Mine is American Standard, and flushes very well.

I'll second on the TOTO brand. A liitle more expensive but well worth it. I was told by a very large plumbing supply in Denver that American Standard was having problems with the tank valves. The TOTO has a 2 level flush. If you push the handle quickly it does a 1/2 tank flush. If you hold the handle for 2 seconds it does a full flush. All I have ever needed to use was the 1/2 flush. It flushes completely and is very quiet. Saves on the well and septic.

While there is no doubt that Toto is one of the best in the new low gallon, high volume designs, the others have caught up. The Kohlers are using the same big flapper design. I give Toto the credit for having come up with it first. I like both the Kohler and Toto and have installed both.

You use the 1/2 flush? You are lucky!

I usually have to use the double flush /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
