A good rule of thumb is one tractor per acre, at least that is my goal :)
I have 5 acres, and 4 tractors if you count my riding mower (since city folks around me call them tractors), and I am considering another with a backhoe.

Seriously, it depends on what you need to do with the tractor. You never have enough HP. When I bought my place, I started with a riding mower. That don't work on 5 acres. I bought a slightly used MF at an auction, great little 20HP 4x4 tractor, but it didn't have a loader so I eventually bought the L3130. I keep my PHD on my MF, but I might sell it for a BX with a backhoe. The L3130 is great, large enough for most everything I need it for, but still I wish I had one a little bigger, with a cab. The L5030 I bought for my dad to use on his 200 acre farm. At 80 yrs old, he needed something a little bigger than an 8N. He still farms, makes hay, raises cattle, etc... I don't know how many times I've told people you can run a baler with an 8N, my dad did it for years, but he loves using the L5030 with the hydro...

Have fun selecting one!

I know I am not Toadhill but I just bought a Kioti DK35 and so far I have 10 hours on it and love it. I cannot believe how powerful it is. I picked up a full grown 15 inch diameter tree that had fallen down the other day and moved it out of my way. Then there was an 8 inch diameter still in th eground that I just popped out of the ground and dropped it our of the way. So far no regrets. I spent a little more money on the DK but, feel I got a pretty good deal. Picked it up for $18k before taxes delivered. I know it's right at your budget, but for the "extras" that you get with it you cannot beat it. Higher loader capacity, more weight than orange, greater hp just seem to make it all worth it. Good luck in your decision, it's a tough one. Just get around and drive 'em!

First, thanks for all the quick responses! :)

Most of the time I will be mowing, but alittle digging is in the future.
I will be keeping the GS1800 (came with the house and good around trees).

I was thinking about a Kubota B3030 to small?

One question for ToadHill: How are the Kioti's never heard of them?

Thanks again!

Will I finally purchase a tractor! About time!

(Kubota BX2660 with loader, 60" mower deck, R4 tires filled with fluid)

Could not pass up on the 0% for 60 months!

Hope my price was not bad?
Just under $14900 for everything out the door, this included the tax.

Finances finally made it possible and my only other means of cutting grass (G1800) is getting bad (deck is starting to fall apart).

Love the orange! :)

Thanks to all!
