The only "weakness" I see in the deal is the 70x backhoe. It's not the optimum length. In backhoes, reach is very important. Even 6" makes a difference. I have a 7.5' hoe and, while she digs great, I'm continually wanted for more reach. If you don't need a trailer, sell it and the 70x and get a longer hoe, like an 80x. The CK has the weight and the hydraulics to handle it.

And while the CK is no DK, it's a huge step up from a B series for digging. Yet is compact enough to fit into tight spaces.

Thanks for all the comments.... Like I said, I loved my kubota but I did find it to be a bit too light for my use. I have a 2 acre lot where I like grow things,... only for the fun if it. Pulling a single bottom plow with a 1400 lbs kubota was a challenge mostly because loss of traction. The loader was a bit weak too... Kioti is twice as heavy, which should help with traction, and it comes with hydro transmission which will help with the loader work. I don't want to go any bigger than this for my use around the house. The funny thing is that I went to look at this deal only cause I was looking for a trailer the guy had in the pictures..... The way I think about it is that I got the trailer for 2 grand, and tractor/back blade for 12K. Seems like a good deal... I'm going for it! Anyone looking for a clean kubota?

Put it in the Kubota Buying/Pricing forum here on TBN. I'm sure it will get snapped up. Nice looking rig you're getting, and trailer too. Report your findings once you have some hours on her.

Congrats and Welcome to the pack!!

KK,

Yes, I agree a CK is a step up from the Kubota he has currently, otherwise he likely wouldn't be considering it in the first place
I'm just suggesting the OP consider for the further reaching future, as well as near future, what his needs are likely to be. If a CK-27 and various implements are adequate then all is well. If, however he is just seeing a shiny almost new tractor deal that could for now, but might not for later meet his needs then go at it eyes open wide.
Regarding a real medium duty work horse in a compact tractor I would say that in the Kioti line up the DK-40 is the real deal, priced right, weight right, sturdiness right, etc., etc. I'm NOT knocking in any way the CK series, I have no experience with them, except what I've read here. Would you say from your own experience with having owned both series, that the CK is to the DK, what the Kubota in question is to the CK?

There's bigger more expensive tractors out there than mine?!
What now?!:confused3:

I've found that the best deal can be had depending on what a particular dealer has for stock and when they purchased that stock. I was looking for a DK50 but my dealer could make a much better deal on the DK45 (he had them both in stock). It was pretty much the same price if memory serves as a DK40 since he would have had to order one. It also of course depends on use. I do a lot of road travel in high gear. I also have a cab with A/C that robs 5-7hp. For me I wanted a little extra hp, even though everything else between them is the same.

There's a big difference in the capabilities of the DK and CK, but also in the technology, so it's hard to say if the DK is to the CK what the CK is to the B2320. 4 cylinders vs 3, manual/auto independent PTO vs live PTO, electronic four wheel drive vs manual etc. To the best of my knowledge, the CK and B2320 are both 3 cyl. live PTO etc, so even though there will be a huge jump in capabilities, there won't be in the design of the tractors. I didn't look very carefully at the B line, even though the Kubota dealer I was dealing with (who I bought my first tractor from) pushed the B2920 (if memory serves) because it was compatible in price to the CK 30. What I found to be the closest comparison to the CK was the standard L line. They didn't quite stack up spec wise, they weren't as heavy and had none of the frills the CK had, but if the OP wants to know how a CK27 stacks up, it's the old L2800 (discontinued) so probably the closest now is the L3200. The closest to a DK40 is a L4240, so that'll give him a sense of the difference between CK and DK for Kioti.

I found I would often have to start backing out of the pile before I could lift it. ......

Sounds normal for just about ANY kind of FEL I've been around ...... you had a HST ...... just adapt ...... not a problem:confused:

I somewhat disagree. My JD 955 was too light and did not have the traction to push into the pile enough that it couldn't lift the FEL with ease. I've yet to even come close to finding something heavy enough that would fit in the bucket of my DK45 that would be too heavy to lift and I can not only push into the pile and lift away, but push thru the pile while I lift. This is actually a complaint I've heard from CK owners here on TBN in the past, and I agree with it.

Now, I've also used a Volvo wheel loader that I'm sure was well north of 30K lbs and found that if I was still pushing into the pile, it would not lift, otherwise I was fine, I didn't have to actually start backing up like on the CK30.

Did you pull back on the stick?!:D
