Great news! I looked at the landpride 16 & 25 series mowers yesterday. They were still on a crate and were unloaded last week. All of these mowers had "Landpride" cast into the gearbox and the boiler plate said made in China for landpride.
If you are sure that the new models will have the sicma italian gearbox then I will wait for one of those. Is this the same gearbox that First Choice is using? I did like the gearbox on the First Choice but other than that, LandPride had them beat hands down. Who really cares if the paint shines after 3 years. I don't usually wash and wax my mower after each use and I have never gone to a finish mower show. To me the paint on a mower only serves as a rust preventative and none of the mowers I have seen are painted very well. Just buy enough metal to feed the rust!
Please advise if the new Landpride models will be using this italian gearbox. It will be worth the wait.
