Need Help Heater Does Not Work

The needle NEVER reached the red line on the temp gauge, when I saw it climbing above the normal range, I stopped and took the plastic off. So I think I am OK. I only put the plastic on the radiator in take because other folks here on TBN have done so, see link below. Knowing that I will have good heat even at -10 F is great to know. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Regarding the Sims cab heater I did not get the Sims heater. I picked up a Curtis Cab heater from e-bay and installed it on the left side of the cab. In the summer I take the cab off , but leave the heater and bottom half of the Sims cab on the tractor year round.
I put plastic on the in-take radiator inside of the cab so you do not get the cold being sucked into the cab. I did take the panel out from under the battery to give the engine a place to get air.

Sad, but I agree with the "redrill and retap, below" school of thought ...in fact, the whole point of the thermostat is to insure a supply of hot water. Used to be that we installed "winter thermostats" in our cars to make sure the heaters worked adequately ...and, if necessary, reverted to "summer thermostat" if overheating was a problem when the weather turned hot.
