I'm really considering that DK45S. I think it'll do everything I want it to.

BTW, I emailed one of the companies that makes the brushcutter/chipper for skidsteers. I asked about the availability of a tractor-mounted unit. Here's the reply:

Thank your for your interest in our products. As you might have seen
on our website, all of our products are driven by hydraulic flow. So
far, we have decided to concentrate on that type of drive. As we get
more demand for PTO-driven models, we will probably investigate
development of such machines, but I'm afraid we will have to
concentrate on other exciting development for the next 4-6 months.

That said, if your model of tractor has a hydraulic pump, then it might
be just a matter of adapting the attachment plate of the DAF models for
skid steer to have something work for you. What type of tractor do you
have (make, model, year)? How much horse power does it have? If your
tractor has PTO instead of hydraulic pump, then I'll keep these
information with the list of other persons who inquired about
PTO-driven brushcutters, and will contact you again when we'll have
such models available.

The unit he's talking about requires 25gal/min hydraulic flow. So, the DK45S's 14gal/min ain't gonna cut it. (pun intended)

But maybe they'll offer a PTO version someday.

Reuben,

did you read thru the other thread and see DonnyJ's comments and the replys on the PTO? It was very interesting. I think you'd appreciate it.

I saw the info about it being an electric engagement.
I think his biggest issue with it was that he was used to something else. Did I read that correctly?

Since I'm new to the tractor thing . . . I don't think I'd have any extra issues learning to use the electric PTO. What do you think?

I'm on your side there....Everything I've done has been with smaller and older so the learning curve should'nt differ much one from the other. George W's idea sounds on target.
