Buying Advice Need help on Final decision

OK fair enough, I do agree that those chains look like they would help. I'm always learning something. My only experience with chains was on a lawn tractor and they were always slipping and getting wrapped around the axle, so I'm a bit biased. I see how chains help, but obviously there are still situations when even chains won't help. Also, no one wants to have to take them on and off all the time.

If you read tire/chain discussions on forestry forums, pretty much everybody suggests R1 tires and add chains for when it's really muddy, or for snow/ice. I found the picture below in one of those discussions....the chains are on R1s, sit perfectly, and will clearly be better in virtually any situation where traction is limited....mud, snow or ice.

My Massey has R1s (unloaded) and they'll spin like crazy on very hard snow or ice. I've gone so far as to put my 1,400lb counterweight on the 3pt, and it barely helped (was pulling a truck out of a snowbank). To fix that I bought some chains, but haven't had to use them yet.

I Clicked on the the pic, and some more pics came up I'm guessing your new Shop/Barn and Backhoe, Very nice! Congratulations:thumbsup:

These guys that have never used chains won't "get it" until they have some experience.

Yep, been working on the "new" barn for over a year, and the backhoe will let me build the land bridge to connect the driveway over to the barn, etc....lots of work planned in the Spring.

Yep, there really isn't any substitute for chains, but they are a pain to put on and off!

NEW INFO, opinions?

OK, I hope everyone didn't leave this thread. After all the advice I presented what I wanted and asked for a price. Let me know what you guys think of this.

A DK45SE Kioti tractor with loader, 2 sets of rear remotes, electric over hydraulic valve for a 4-in-1 bucket/front grapple, and water filled tires will cost $24,100 cash price
With A backhoe attachment will cost $29,800. Those are cash prices. Looks like cash price on the loader was discounted about $1600.

Using the zero percent option for financing increases the price incrementally (36-60 mos) to a top range at 60 months of 35,100.

Assuming about 5% rate through my lender, and 5 years the interest cost would only be about 500 bucks less, then take into account the discount on the backhoe and I figure I'm about 2k ahead vs financing price. Fully confident it would be paid off earlier but just thinking worst case scenario.

So anyway, let me know what you think. Looks like I am better getting my own financing is a better to deal to take advantage of the cash price given the backhoe.
This seem like a good deal?

This seem like a good deal?[/QUote}At the time I bought my tractor my dealer quoted me 6500 for the hoe, with a mechanical thumb I paid 36k before finance charges for Dk45 HST cab with third function valve plumbed to the front, and hoe with mech. thumb/
I filled the tires myself, I'm an old tire guy still have all my equip.

So -5k for the cab, and -6500 for the hoe, that comes out to 24,500 for the tractor...hst drive... no extra rear remote for me, which you got, don' remember what the price difference was between gear an hyst....So anyway, It all looks in the ballpark, but I got in on the free loader program, and mine was financed price, before financing..which I am told is cheaper than cash price.

Without mind humping it to much I don't think you are gettin taken to the cleaners.
It looks in range.

I think those prices are fair. I priced an open station DK40SE HST with loader and two remotes in late 2012, and it was around $22,500 or a bit more, so you have another year, and the 45 versus the 40, so it makes sense to me.

looks like a reasonable deal. Getting about 1800. cash back on the backhoe and if you consider the loader cost and then add back in the cost of the extra remote and the vale for the bucket/grapple up front you are getting the free loader so its definitely getting reasonable.

Your dealer could simply run it threw agree credit and you should end up right around that 5% finance rate.

To be clear, this tractor does have FEL. Interestingly, the cash price is discounted $5300, exactly what the Kioti site state the "free" FEL would be worth.

That looks like a good price for a Kioti. I'm looking at a Kubota L3800HST with FEL, backhoe, PHD with r4's, tires loaded and sealed, bucket hooks welded on. Price is $29.8, Kubota's have a premium. Those Kioti's had my interest, just no models available near me and I don't want a final tier4.
