Irwin, from everything I've seen (and granted I haven't been researching this very long), I think you stole it! Congrats, I wish I could find a deal like that. If I go for it, I figured on offering 18-19 and see what happens...given the accessories you found, and the fact that this one needs tires, that's probably plenty. I'm still torn, that L3240 sure looks nice! Operator area seemed bigger and more comfortable on the 3240 as well.

BTW, how do you like the GST? Today was the first time I played with one, seemed pretty nice.

I was looking for a deal for about six months. Found the L35 while deciding between 2 other TLB's... it was a fluke.

My reason for liking the GST......it's still a gear trans "more power to the ground" with shuttle shift, and the ability to shift on the go without clutching. I think it's a great compromise.

Make sure it has the 3pt equipment with it. Replacements from Kubota are over 1k.

I asked about that, he said they were with the machine. I would have to see them before digging up cash. I also would want a tractor mechanic to review the rig.

I'm really torn, this is probably the smart rig to go with vs the L3240-more rugged and with a better hoe than is even available for the other one. It's probably a better choice for rougher work in the woods too. The L35 just doesn't look as "pretty" as the 3240...not that it should matter on a tractor.

Does anyone have any thoughs as to which rig would have the lower center of gravity and be better on side-hills?

Also, how about some thoughts as to prices on replacement tires?

One more question, is a quick attach bucket adaptor available for this, and how much do they run?

Thanks and sorry about all the basic questions.

Not sure about comparing a L35 to a L3240... but I am sooo happy the L35 is (night and day) more stable than my other tractor..it's very good. Now if you have dangerous hills you won't be feeling too safe on many tractors..You could get wheel spacers on the rear if it feels too tippy....

Tires are most likely the same price range for both tractors within the type of tire..ie: R1, R3, R4. I don't think anyone would recommend farm tires on a construction grade machine..it's a digging beast so you need tough tires,..R4. I bought a pair of 12.4-16 R4's for a different tractor and paid about $850.00 for both mounted. The rears on the L35 are bigger so expect to pay more.

Kubota makes a QA for their loaders, but mine is a ATI and it's a good solid unit. ATI Corporation - Tach-All(tm) Quick Attach not sure what it costs but I've called ATI and asked about the prices on some of their products and they let me know how much and where to get them.

Irwin, I'm pretty well talked into the L35, just have to sell the CFO on it. I'm figuring around $18k ought to be in the ballpark, given the need for probably a grand or so worth of tires.

With as much time as I have been spending on here it seem like I'd have come across the ATI link before. I like the looks of the grapple attachment they have. Now my decision is between just putting the grapple attachment on the existing bucket, or adding the qick-tach and a grapple bucket.

I have plenty of old stumps stumps on my property to put the backhoe to good use.

Thanks for all the input.
