need pros and cons between the yn2420d the yn2610d

they had 8-18 tires on the front and 12.4-26 on the back which is correct in the front and wrong in the back. it is supposed to have 8-18 and 13.7-24. they did not have the 13.7-24 in stock so they switched out the rear for 12.4-28. i have not seen it yet, and the pic above is with the shorter tire. i will post a new pic when i pick it up.

So the rear final drive ratio may be affected??

Before bringing it home i would stick it in 4x4 and drive in a straight line for a couple rotations of the rear tires and then jack up the front axle to see if it is binding( winding up) the front drive line. If when jacked up it the front tire rotates to release much wind up I would hesitant to take it.
most mechanical 4 wheel drive tractors will have the front axle overdriven a few %

JMO but if the ratio ends up out of spec ( because of the incorrect sized tires) and you take delivery and then end up damaging something due to actually using the 4x4 function who pays and does the repair??

Or am i reading this incorrectly and the Correct spec. tires will be installed before pick up??

they had the wrong size on there and i asked them to fix it. the 13.7-26 is about 49.5" OD and they had a 12.4-26 which is about 45.2" OD. they did not have any 13.7-26 tires in stock so they are putting a set of 28" rims with 12.4-28 tires which have an OD of about 49.7 which i think will be close enough. i will most definitely verify that before i take it home. the machine does come with a warranty so if anything breaks, stops working, starts leaking, ect they would fix it.

But if (you) had to inform the dealership about the incorrect tire /wheel sizes with a 4 + inch diameter difference I hope They didn't drive it much in 4x4 like that before you looked at it. Those front axle outer drive gears don't take to well to being over stressed.

A couple years ago My FILs YM2310D killed both sides a few months apart with stock tires and wheels.

Although after he rebuilt the end housings it has been fine since then. And the tractor you are looking at is a much heavier duty model to start with which is a good thing.

So VN-1 is selling Frankensteinmars assembled from whatevers on hand.

I'm glad you found this before it destroyed the front hub gears.

I wonder if any other first-time buyer would recognize what they did.

i think i would still want the tires it was speced for. that is not a cheap machine and they should not balk at installing the correct size tire, not just what they have laying around.

Nope they wouldnt and they would of busted thier hubs all up and axles and or drive shafts and most likely out of the warrenty period unless they did lots of 4x4ing on hard surfaces prior to end of warrenty.

What is the warrenty period? 1 year?

it looks as if those are brand new tires, why would they not install the right size rim and buy the correct size? They must of gotten it in stock with the wrong size rims?

And do they refurb them there or VN?

Wasent VN1 tractor the one where one of the owners was charged with murder? it may have been in vietnam i am not sure but one of these importers the Vietnam ones was the one
