Need Some Information on Post Hole Augers

I am a newbie to tractors and purchased a Mahindra 3016 to do mostly landscaping work, driveway maintenance, snow removal,etc. I am looking to get a post hole auger and there are few tractor/implement dealers in the area. I found a Hawkline by Behlen at the local IFA with either a 9" or 12" auger and was wondering if this was a decent brand?

Those are regular generic 3pt PHD with "Chinese" gearboxes like most come with nowadays.With the exeception of maybe Danuser and Befco's.There ok,complete with either auger price new should not be over $650. If not keep looking. Also check your gearbox oil 80/90 before using lots of these PHD come shipped dry.

I use a Danuser with the aggressive digging head and a down force hydraulic set up to apply pressure and dig faster .. New Holland TN 70 .. I think they are the best on the market and I got mine in stock from my New Holland Dealer - Idaho. I also use a setup from my dealer so I can level my two bottom hitches and corrugate on uneven ground. If you are constructing a pole barn .. you must have level even when your tractor is on uneven ground. Call and drive to a good implement dealer.

Thanks for the information. I would like to have the Danuser, as I have read great things about them. I really don't need anything industrial duty, as this PHD will be used for a fence and planting trees.
